Austin Rivers committed to Duke on Thursday, giving the Blue Devils the top guard in the class of 2011.
“World i have decided to go to duke! Let’s go blue devils ha,” Rivers wrote on his Twitter account on Thursday. Rivers later made the announcement on ESPN.
Rivals.com ranks Rivers, a 6-foot-4 shooting guard and son of NBA coach Doc Rivers, as the top prospect in the class of 2011. Scout.com has him ranked behind two forwards at No. 3 overall.
“He’s as talented a scoring guard the ACC has seen on the offensive end in a long time,” Scout’s Dave Telep said. “This guy owns a mature scoring game, and he’s going to be a big No. 1 guy from day one.”

What a great day for the National Champions and Greensboro’s favorite team. It’s nice to see a such a positive story, what with the black eye our state is taking now.
I always thought Greensboro was a Carolina town!!
