Dynamo go in Major League Soccer Superdraft

THREE DYNAMO PLAYERS SELECTED IN THE 2011 MAJOR LEAGUE SOCCER SUPERDRAFT

Baltimore, Maryland: Today two former Carolina Dynamo players were
selected in the first round of the 2011 Major League Soccer Superdraft.
Jalil Anibaba, and Eddie Ababio teammates from the University of North
Carolina at Chapel Hill were selected as the #9 & #18 picks respectively.
In the 2nd round another Tar Heel player, Stephen McCarthy was selected as
the #24 overall pick.

Jalil Anibaba was selected as the #9 overall pick by the Chicago Fire.
Last season with the Dynamo Jalil started as a central defender in all 12
matches he appeared in. Anibaba was also named the most valuable player
earlier this week at the MLS combine.

Eddie Ababio was selected as the #18 overall pick and the last of the
first round by the Colorado Rapids. Eddie played for the Dynamo from
2007-2009 sitting out the entire 2010 season with an injury. During his
time with the Dynamo Ababio appeared in 27 games as both a defender and
forward scoring 11 goals while assisting on another four.

Stephen McCarthy was selected as the #6 pick in the 2nd round and the 24th
overall pick by the New England Revolution. Last season with the Dynamo
Stephen saw action in nine games while fighting an injury. Stephen still
managed to finish fourth on the Dynamo in points off four goals and one
assist.
