Skinner leads Guilford men running fast in Lynchburg, Virginia(4:22.86 mile)

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Guilford College completed competition at the non-scoring
Liberty Open Saturday at the Tolsma Indoor Track Complex. The event featured
an array of NCAA Division I, Division II and Division III programs .

On the men’s side, Dylan Skinner turned in one of the Quakers’ better
performances with a season-low 4:22.86 in the mile. He finished 16th among
46 competitors in the race. Skinner also ran on Guilford’s 1600-meter relay
team that took 10th in 3:33.53. The Quakers had the second-fastest Division
III time in the race. Guilford’s Johnathan Smith placed 12th among 66
runners in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.08 seconds. Smith had the best
time among Division III sprinters.

Taylor Stokes placed 16th out of 43 runners in the women’s mile. She
completed the course in 5:25.88, the second-fastest Division III time in the
race. She also ran the 3,000 in 11:29.03, which stood 21st among 38 runners.

The Quakers run in the Niswonger Invitational Feb. 4-5 at East Tennessee
State University in Johnson City, Tenn.
