NWG twin brothers signing Letters of Intent on March 30

Northwest Guilford High School is proud to announce that on Wednesday, March 30th at 9am they will be hosting a NCAA letter of intent athletic signing ceremony for two college bound student athletes.

Twin brothers Alex and Austin Pauley will be signing with Carson Newman to play football. Carson Newman is an NCAA Division II school in Jefferson City, Tennessee that competes in the South Atlantic Conference.

Both young men played a pivotal role in the ascendance of Northwest Viking football program the past three seasons.

Alex had 96 tackles this past season and played for the North Carolina team in the NC/SC Shrine Bowl. Austin had 87 tackles on defense. On offense, Austin had 217 yards rushing on 43 carries with 3 touchdowns. Both were also pivotal players on special teams for the Vikings as well.

  1. That’s a great choice. Ken Sparks is a great coach who expects his ball players to develop character not only on the field but off the field as well.

  2. Make that Jefferson City, not Johnson City. It’s the next county east of Knoxville.

  3. Congrats to both of these young men. They will be a great addition to the football program at Carson Newman.
    Being able to coach these guys early on in their football career was a delight. Watching them develop over the years
    as young men and football standouts has been exciting. I look for nothing but great things as the move on to the college level.
