She’s a Guilford County native and she still has family here and all of those that are part of the N.C. State family/fan base, can rest assured that N.C. State University Athletic Director Debbie Yow will do the right thing, when she hires the new men’s basketball coach for the Wolfpack program…..
It is not time to hit the panic button yet, even though there seems to be a number of coaches that have not shown a full-fledged, major interest in the job….There are other coaches out there and Yow will put here nose to the plow, as the farmers like to say and she will get the job done…..
That is the bottom line, she will get the job done, because the job must be filled and now that the early candidates are not looking toward Raleigh, there is no real need to get in a hurry….In a case like this you can keep looking and doing your research and you never know, it may not hurt to go back to one of your original choices and see if maybe they have had second thoughts and now maybe they are willing to talk about the job in further detail….
The work must continue and talk about who will be the next men’s basketball coach at N.C. State will continue as well…..I always liked the job that Larry Hunter did, back in his days as an assistant coach in Raleigh, under Herb Sendek and now Hunter is the head man at Western Carolina…..You never know??? Hey Larry…..Hello Larry….
Names like Bob Knight keep popping into the course of the conversation, but I think you would be better off hiring a younger coach, that can be with your program for more than just a couple of years…..
Is the talking about talking about the new hire over? Not on your life and it won’t end when the new coach has been giving the keys to coaches office….At that point, the real talking will have just begun…..That’s the way it is in the ACC and especially when it comes to basketball…..
