  1. Not so sure that SEG would fall to West Forsyth, but the team that really looks tough is the squad that Northwest will face tonight in Providence at (25-2)….Providence beat Ardrey Kell twice during the regular season and AK is something like 22-3 going over to Glenn on Wednesday night….

If SEG wins Wednesday then they would have to face NWG-Providence winner and Providence looks very tough with 3 key DI signees….Two heading to N.C. State and one to Clemson….NWG beat Prov. back in 1998 and I’m sure that game has not been lost on the Prov. regulars that have been around over the past 13 years….That was the same year that NWG won it all in their first year as a 4-A school, topping Josh Hamilton and Raleigh Athens Drive for in Raleigh for the title…..Jamie Hemmingway and John Gann were among the NWG Viking leaders back during that run…..

  2. Naturally if you asked me I say this is our year to win it all but as you all know that requires more than having the better team in baseball. Not everyone will be hitting at the same time so it is important to string hits together, move base runners, and manufacture runs. We have been hitting the ball well all season. I think this game the opposition will be less inclined to pitch around Josh to get to Blake…hehehehe.

Another key of course is pitching. Jacobelli is not overpowering but he has very good movement and fantastic location. He like Shutt has been impossible to hit at times this year. Newton has a very good fastball but like others sometimes struggles with control. The key will be not keeping anybody in there too long if they are not hitting their spots when they need to. No need to hold someone for Friday if we don’t make it to Friday. If we can figure out what the ump is giving and keep it there when we need to and we will do fine.

    GO FALCONS!!!!

  3. If Cliff Craven is there and in attendance, then Southeast Guilford has a very good chance to win….SEG does not lose many games when the Spirit of Southeast Guilford, Cliff Craven is in the house….SEG, the “House that Cisero Craven built”, back in the day……

  4. Just got word that the Northwest vs Providence baseball game has been cancelled for Tuesday night. The Northwest bus is turning around and headed back to Greensboro.

  5. Im pulling for SE all the way, dont get me wrong. I just think that WF’s schedule was a lot more difficult and that gives (2 prettty even ball clubs) the edge. Good luck to all the GC teams.

  6. Not sure who wins this game. Should be a close one. I watched WF beat SWG on saturday. They have two very good D1 pitchers in Mayhew and Morgan. Both throw in the low 90’s. With the rainout, WF should have both available again tomorrow. That is a tough combination to beat in the same game. Sounds like it will be the pitching of WF against the hitting of SEG. I’m not sure how you get Tobias out. If you don’t, he creates havoc on the bases. The Butler kid is having an outstanding season too. This should be a fun game to watch.
