Kernersville Bulldogs claim 4th straight Summer League Crown(CVSL) with Brian Connolly(UNCA) winning pitcher and Lloyd Enzor(UNCG) MVP

The Carolina-Virginia Summer Collegiate Baseball League crowned their 2011 champion
late Monday in Mocksville, NC. The Kernersville Bulldogs defeated the Smoky Mt Big
Train 4 to 1 to claim their fourth consecutive League crown. The number 2 seed
entering the tournament defeated the Virginia Marlins 12-2 in the opening round,
defeated the Big Train 5-4 in extra innings in the second round, and defeated the
Carolina Hurricanes 3-1 to reach the finals. UNC Asheville’s Brian Connolly picked
up the win with four solid innings of mound work giving up only an unearned run and
four hits. UNCG’s Cambric Moye with a first inning rbi single got the Bulldogs out
to a quick 2-0 lead. Moye’s lead off single in the 6th was followed by WSSU’s Aaron
Jones
single and a two run double by Zack Russell-Myers of Wake Tech to finish the
scoring in the well played defensive 4-1 game. UNCG’s Lloyd Enzor was named the
tourney MVP hitting a league record four home runs and 10 Rbis. Former SW Guilford’s
Cal Sutphin of Pitt Community College, the Bulldogs leading hitter on the season was
named to the all tourney team as was Surry Community College’s Brandon Harrison, and
Brevard’s Casey Smith. The Bulldogs completed the season with a 38-15-1 record.

  1. Andy, talked with Brandon Harrison the other night. I am about 95% sure he is going to be heading to Winston Salem State in the fall to continue his baseball career. They are loading up on some local talent at WSSU
