  1. Hornet you got my vote. I will vote early and often tonight. Looks like we have a way to go to catch Wheatmore.

  2. I’m inclined to believe that they are using some software to hack into the poll and add significant numbers. We were ahead a couple of days ago.

  3. It is hard to fathom that this could be the top game with Trinity winless on the season……Wheatmore must be whacking that computer endlessly…..

  4. Believe me, News 2 & Brian Formica HAVE ALREADY determined their Game of the Week! These kids work TOO hard to get to the top (whatever that may be) to be disrespected by turning something that should be a deserved honor into a popularity contest! It’s not about what any team has accomplished up to this point, it’s about their ratings & how many people they can get to tune into their Facebook page! Andy, I know you are an obvious supporter of News 2 & Mr. Formica, but did you pick up on what 3 of your 4 players had to say last Thurs. night during “Football in Focus” when asked which local Friday night highlight show they enjoyed & watched most? FOX 8 was their response! Heck, WXII 12 covers Guilford Co. teams as much as our local CBS affiliate! Watch Friday night & tell me I’m wrong! I agree w/ the poster who commented earlier today that “Player of the Week” shouldn’t be awarded based on popularity! It’s about accomplishments & contributions made on Friday night! Coach Turk & 102JAMZ does it right! He has a group of diverse football folks that gather each Monday morning & haggle over who deserves to be honored w/ this distinction! They cover all the local games & can fairly articulate their views! Just a thought.

Andy, I do however, appreciate the fact that you do recognize many, many kids every week that might not be featured on Friday night highlights or even in our “beloved” N & R.

  5. Just curious, where was your encouragement & support for the Ragsdale vs NW Guilford game last week?! Uhhhhhh, I have to believe that this particular rivalry game might have been deserving of “game of the week” status! Seems awfully ironic that you’re touting the 2 Guilford Co. teams in this week’s matchups, but not the biggest conference game in the Piedmont last week?! Andy, even you saw fit to cover this game! . . . .(scratching my head) 🙁

  6. That game, NWG-Ragsdale had so much heat going in already, I made to decision not to go overboard on that game, cause it is a different animal and it had all the fire it needed already, without me throwing more gas on that fire…..I’m glad we got through that one without too much fire and smoke….That game was/is so big, you didn’t really need all the TV cameras on that game…..You could have looked up in the sky and saw it……It is almost like an old song I once heard, that said, I can see him comnig in the sky….If you looked up and studied the night sky last Friday evening, you could have seen that game…..Fourth and goal from the two with 15 seconds remaining…..After third and goal from the 1 and you could almost see it coming in the sky……The fake punt for 19 yards on the opening drive of the game for the first down…..That game was better made for radio any way don’t you think? Who needs TV carmera when you have an imagination…..

I can see it coming in the sky………
