Fight from last Friday night could have major impact on the NCHSAA Football Playoffs

Altercation could alter the Playoffs……

from Nick Stevens with HighSchoolOT at www.wralsportsfan.com:

An altercation between two high school football teams in the western part of the state could have an impact on the 3-A state playoffs.

Freedom defeated Chase 55-13 last week, but in the third quarter an altercation broke out which could keep the Patriots out of the playoffs.

The incident, which happened after a Freedom punt, resulted in five Freedom players and two Chase players being ejected for fighting, according to the Hickory Daily Record.

N.C. High School Athletic Association officials are currently reviewing the specifics of the incident. A decision will be made later this week as to whether or not Freedom will be allowed to participate in the state playoffs.
