  1. Halftime…..Page is up 21 to 7. BTW- it is colder than Satan’s heart out here!!!

  2. Here again i stand by my comment of smoke and mirrors. If Page is letting teams like Dudley and Southeast hang around until the 4th quarter when they meet a team full of athletes like the ones they will play in the playoffs, you will see the true Page. As James goes Page goes. Good win tonight…it will be short lived. They may make it to the third round maybe. But the are not a championship caliber team.

  3. I would like to see a rematch of Page and Northern Guilford. After their first game and first loss of the season with Page, they have become a very different football team. Northern Guilford has become explosive is like they were last year. Logan runs like a deer and Downing is the toughest kid I’ve ever seen.

  4. That is really true about page! Yeah give them credit for a undefeated season! but to win states is not likely I think Mallard creek or another good charlotte team can shut them out like 49-0.

  5. The refs kept up their average, two touchdowns call back against Page. If Page were given the touchdowns called back, and not counted the ones they made, Page would have beaten most teams with just the called back touchdowns. Explosive?? James Summers was explosive. No matter what happens through the playoffs, Page had a perfect 2011 season. No one can take that away.

  6. “Footballfan”……Also remember that Page is better. Page has also played better teams along the way. Northern is playing well as expected, but they have a really weak conference

  7. Page Dad,

I understand you wanting to be proud but make no mistake that the reason Page is undefeated thus far is because the quality of football is down this year in Guilford County. Ragsdale is weakest I have seen them in years, as is Dudley and Western ansd High Point Central as far as that goes. Page is in for a wake up call in the 2nd round if they play a decent team that can pass. Someone like Scotland, Butler, or even Richmond after getting demolished by Scotland tonight. Page has alot of skilled athletes but just as I stated last week, they will get beat and badly at the line of scrimmage. And that is on both sides of the ball. I hope they go far but you can’t expect 185-200lb lineman to block good 270lb DL all night. Good luck Pirates. You are gonna need it.

  8. Each person is entitled to their opinion about Page. You can reach through 3, maybe 4 counties to bring a team to beat Page because that’s what the naysayers HAVE to do but you cannot take away that they’ve ended their regular season undefeated and that within itself is nothing to sneeze at. No, Page did not run up the score and even if they did, I guarantee you, someone would’ve had something negative to say about that! Not only has the Pirates won every game but they’ve managed to win them decisively. I’m tremendously proud of each and every team member on the Pirate football team for I’m sure that the memory will last a lifetime.
    .
    .
So go ahead, continue with the doubts. You said they wouldn’t beat Northern, Ragsdale, Dudley, and whomever else and they just kept silent and proved you wrong. Mallard Creek is a great team just like so many others but just like you say about Page, they’re beatable.
    .
    Again, congratulations Pirates!

  9. Tragic, tragic night at High Point Simeon stadium. An official had a heart attack. Early reports are not good at all. Prayers to his family. Ragsdale trainer sprinted across the field to an official down on the HPC side. No ambulance or EMT’s at the game. Took 9 minutes to get EMT’s there.

  10. 10 teams (including my Panthers) that agree , Page IS good. Don’t worry about the haters…they are going to do what they do.
    Good luck going forward

  11. @ oppenheimerfund—
    .
I was thinking the same thing only thought about using another example. Page’s defensive linemen are clearly not the biggest but week after week, they’ve constantly proven that size doesn’t alway equate to strength. I’ll give a perfect example then, I’m going to put this “Page can’t go far into the playoffs” hype to bed. Simple math……add up Page’s total scores for the season (OK…exclude the points taken away but definitely include the scores from defensive men) then, add up the scores of their opponents. Don’t forget to include that most of the teams have steadily improved each week.
    .
    .
Need I really break it down lower than that? I mean, I just broke it down to it’s lowest common denominator.
    .
    .
    Case closed.

  12. Oppenheimerfund

Size of line statement you made is absurd and almost completely insanly stupid. You will be the first person I will be looking for on this blog when Page gets whipped up on and it will be because they got smashed at line of scrimmage. Page will not run the ball on teams like Butler and Mallard Creek . And rest asure that those teams are going to put up alot more than 14 pts. Page will be lucky to hold them under 30. The caliber of ball is different. I am pulling for Page but unlike many of Page’s fans I am realistic and understand the game of football.

  13. I have been saying it all year, Page has a good team, guilford county is down this year, you will get smashed by mallard creek, sorry, just another realistic fan who calls em like I see em, If its really that hard for u to fatham, then go to twc carolinal 14 and watch the butller/mallard creek game, enough said.

    Vegas Mike

  14. Under dogs unite,

I hope you are not breaking things down by just what Page has played thus far and that my friend is what you are doing. You are clouding you judgement on what you think this team can do just because they have done it in the weak caliber of teams in guilford county. I hope you are more intellegent than that. I have been watching High School Football all over the state for years and if you would go see some football outside Guilford County you would understand that Page is doomed in the playoffs and maybe as early as 2nd round. Teams that will be in the middle of the pack and playing on the road in playoffs ; for example, Independence, Richmond, Crest if qualify AA and some others are going to give Page fits and more than likely beat Page before they even get to Butler or Mallard Creek. For you Page fans that have short memories, how many times did Crest beat Page when it looked like Page had the better team. What about a couple of years ago when 71st came up and dominated Page with smash mouth football. Whats the last team from outside Guilford County has Page beat in the playoffs that was a top notch team. Maybe West Charlotte in 96, Northern Durham at home in 96. Get my drift. I would love to be watching Page play for championship in early December, but unfortunatly Santa Claus don’t come that early.

  15. UU, Page is a talented team. However they truly have not played many really good teams. Northern is pretty good but dependent on 3 guys. Dudley games was closer than it should have been. Dudley offense has had a tough year. SEG is pretty good, better than people think. Ragsdale turned it over 4 times in 2nd half alone and that game was close late. They should get at least to the 3rd round. But after that I am not so sure. You can definitely throw on Page. Their d-line plays hard. Not sure how they do against a dominant o-line. Page offense is more than James, and it better be, Rogers is a very good back. Page could win it all but I doubt it. They need the right match-ups and Summers has to be great with his feet. If he is forced to throw Page is in trouble. You may laugh but if East Forsyth doesn’t turn it over they can give Page fits. If you draw NWG you will not have much trouble there. If you can get to the 3-4th round anything is possible.

  16. When it comes to 4 AA Football, you have to go thur Those tough Charlotte Teams or Richmond Co. to get to the Championship. I seen Page play 5 times this yr and I seen Char Butler, Richmond Co., Char Mallard Creek Play. I just don’t see Page beating those teams. History serves me right when Page has gone up against Char. Independence or Shelby Crest, even when Crest had a 5-5 record, it was a loss for them. We will see. Scotland Co. is super strong this yr as well.

  17. Oh crap…Since Page don’t stand a chance, I guess they should just pack it up and call it a season…I mean hell, why even try?..

Good thing Page players, coaches, and our fans believe otherwise…Have they struggled?..Yes, especially the last two games…If Page gets hot then they can hang with anyone…Coach G says it like this – “Respect all teams but we will fear none”…Page will not fear West Forsyth, Richmond County, Independence, Butler, Malard Creek or any team that lines up in front of them…I will say this, if any team beats Page, then they were a DAMN good team…

I will also say this, going 10-0 may not be so hot, but I will take it anyway…

  18. Page Fan,

They don’t have to fear the other team to get beat. WE are not hating on Page. Just stating the facts. Page played Butler last year in playoffs and lost by more than 2 tds. and before you get on that kick “that was last year and we have our star QB back” , they also have Ferguson back and star WR Lemay back as well. They are both juniors by the way. And don’t worry cause Mallard Creek, Butler and the others mentioned above are DAMN good teams and that spells BAD NEWS for Page. Face it. At the end of the day,if you are realistic and use common sense and not let the emotions of staying loyal to your team get in the way, Page is not a polished enough team to beat those higher quality teams. whether you want to admit or not.

  19. Eagle89,

Be realistic all you want but you won’t get me to be anything other than optimistic…We Page fans get it…We understand that the only reason that Page finished 10-0 was because Guilford County is down…lol…I’m not here to argue with your opinion, but Page has the defense to keep them in games…

  20. Really tragic situation at the Ragsdale game tonight if the rumors are true about the ref passing away from a heart attack. It didn’t look good while they were working on him.

Thoughts and prayers out to him and his family.

  21. Page has the talent and ability to make a run at a State title. Who cares if competition was down in Guilford County? It may have been, but that doesn’t diminish Page’s accomplishments or give them less of a chance at winning it all. If Summers is the best player on the field, then they will be in the game!! We’re talking about teenagers! Anything can happen! Coaching will play a big part in what we see from Page from this point forward.

  22. I’m just sitting here wondering if the Mallard Creeks, Scotland Counties, Butlers and Independences have such a “support” system as I see on this message blog.
    ..
The thing that I find absolutely astounding is…some of you said Page couldn’t beat area teams, they were going to get smashed, trampled, stir fried and everything else you could throw at them THEN, once they steadied the course, the very team YOU said was going to beat them wasn’t good and that’s why Page won? What—in–the–world??????.
    .
Then—I’m still LMBO @ some of you even going so far as to travel outside of the local area to armchair quarterback and throw other teams at Page. As I sit here, I can’t only say that some of you are simply….UNBELIEVABLE! Has Mallard Creek ever lost? What about Butler? I won’t go there with Indy ’cause I can recall them being unstoppable until someone stopped them now, some of you get amnesia when it comes to their greatness. Why? Because EVENTUALLY–they LOST!!!!!!
    .
    .
If you can show me a team (OK..I’ll do LIKE YOU) ANYWHERE in the United States of America that has never, EVER been beaten then, I’ll fall back in my support of my Pirates and cyber you a pack of M&Ms (peanuts) I PROMISE!!
**crossing my fingers behind my back**
    .
    .
My point (for you s-l-o-w) ones is: Just like any team on any given night can be beat, I feel as if Page can do it and if for some unforeseen reason they don’t, I’ll do like some of you and say that they had to be beat by a team that you guys paid their transportation and bussed them there to do it.
    .
    .
For the ones of you that, even though Page may not be your favorite team yet you show support, I appreciate your sound logic and your reasoning simply to understand my point. I also appreciate that you may not agree but you’ve been respectful in your comments. (Again, we’re talking about impressionable young men). For the rest of you that don’t like them and are disrespectful I say PARDON MY BACK!!!

  23. The official at the Ragsdale/HPC game that had a heart attack last night has passed away. RIP Mr. Eric McCoy. Please send your prayers out to his family.

  24. So let me get this straight. The only reason Page went 10-0 is because they haven’t played many good teams? So playing the state runner up out of the box then the defending state champ the next week was an easy schedule? Last time I checked, Ragsdale was a pretty tough team, too.

    Pretty pathetic, guys.

Page will be ready for the playoffs. They will face tough teams but this team does not flinch.

And to my bitter friend Mr. Smoke & Mirrors Ron….Just because Page let “SEG hang around until the 4th quarter” proves they are not good? What does that say about your team? Page could have hung 50 on them, and then you would be whining like a little girl that Page “ran the score up.”

Be grateful your boys scored 13 points. 7 first downs, 3 of 16 passing…Summers had 242 yards on the ground. Yep, smoke and mirrors, all right.

By the way, your coach came across crass in the News & Record. Enjoy your wild card birth to the playoffs, if you’re lucky.

  25. Went to the Page game last night with a good friend of mine who graduated from Page in the mid 90s. First, from what I saw Page is a very good defensive football team, maybe the best I have seen in a long time. Second, Summers is an absolute stud. But there were a lot of things I saw from Page last night that was disturbing. The worst is something I actually heard in the stands. After the SE qb got dinged on a play, you could hear a Page player screaming, break his arm next time. But probably the worst thing I saw was a Page fan go over to the SE sideline and taunt the SE sideline and their coaches. I’m sure Page has plenty of good fans as well, but I will say that any Page fan that complains about the refs should stop, because you got maybe the biggest homer call I have ever seen last night when down by a td, SE recovered a an onside kick and the refs made them rekick because of an inadvertent whistle. Game could have been real interesting if the refs don’t blow that call, but SE seemed to lose their will after that. Oh well, Page is talented and I wish them well in the playoffs.

  26. *****The official at the Ragsdale/HPC game that had a heart attack last night has passed away. RIP Mr. Eric McCoy. Please send your prayers out to his family.*****

This is where we should put our focus here early this mornnig….Playoff info is due up later today, but this is a major concern right now….The kids were right along the sideline and they saw the ref go down and the paramedics trying to revive his and this is a very sad, sad situation……It makes you feel for all the referees that have called the games over the years and most importantly for this man’s family…..Let’s remember Mr. McCoy and his family this morning and keep them in our thoughts and prayers all throughout the weekend…..

  27. Page is the best team in this area in any division. We stumped Northern Guilford and it could have gotten worst if the refs did not get flag dropping happy. James Summers will be the Player of the Year around here hands down and there will be no need to vote. GO PIRATES!

  28. There were two teams with talent on the field at Page last night….It just happens that the better team won last evening….We not here to crack on the kids from the game, we are here for that purpose and if you have personal problems with a coach, then you need to contact him in person and not try to reach him through this medium…..

Plenty of things to look at from the games, but this is not the right place to make personal attacks or cracks on players and coaches….They have enough to worry about with the post season coming on and the playoff matchups are looming…..

  29. Ron is a Dudley Alum and supporter of local high school football. He’s also helped quite a few area kids move onto bigger and better things. I’m an SEG supporter. Page had a couple more athletes out there than SEG. I think next year will be a different story. SEG is pretty much a team of juniors and sophomores. Most of the major contributors will be back. High School football runs in cycles. Good luck to Page and stay healthy! Respesent Guilford County in the highest manner.

My prayers are with the family of Mr. Eric McCoy.

  30. I’m not sure why Andy is directing people to talk to Coaches directly now. Many of us have. I’ve been on this website when everyone was talking bad about every basketball coach in Guilford County and now we’re being asked not to express our opinion. I don’t get it. I haven’t seen anything half as bad as some of the things being sad about Northern’s former coach possibly recruiting kids. This seems like a double standard.

I’m sure the SEG coach must have been told that Page’s offense has had trouble scoring this season. Maybe he saw something on film that the rest of the state hasn’t seen. That could be only possible explanation for continually giving Page the short field all night. SEG never kicks the ball deep. Twilight Zone football! I think if you Damon didn’t have a brother playing at SEG he’d really have a lot to more to say on the subject.

Size of line statement you made is absurd and almost completely insanly stupid. Eagle 89…..I did not say anything about being a Page Fan. “Absurd”, and “Stupid” are not called for on this site. When you are a coach you are only obliged to coach those players that you have. “Good” coaches will always “teach” their players the game of football. They teach technique as well as who to block. I do agree that bigger players will give you an advantage that you will not have with small players. There are exceptions. Crest was much bigger than Northern, but Northern won the game because of coaching. Roscoe was/is a better coach than Mark Barnes, and he showed it.
I dont have a problem with Size, Strength, and good movement (Speed and Quickness) but if you dont have any coaching to go along with it then you will not win. Ask Dudley how it was before Steve Davis came along. Dudley was big and athletic but could not win anything. When they got Coach Davis they got someone who would coach and teach.
Eagle, I am sure you are passionate about the game, but I dont think you know as much as you think you know.

  32. First off R.I.P. to the ref from last night. Secondly i am Dudley through and through…Southeast is my secondary team. Still debating whether to send my kids to Dudley or Southeast. Someone ssid it best last night…i i said it at the beginning of the year. Football is really down in Guilford County. WHen is the last time that you have seen a team go undefeated. I understand this is a milestone for Page. 10-0 is pretty good. It will be all for naught if they come up short in the playoffs. Their defense is still unproven to me. No one in guilford county has the athletes or the high powered offense that they will face. Again letting teams like Southeast and Dudley hang around until the fourth quarter tells me that you are smoke and mirrors. Dudley and Southeast have offensive problems. It won’t be like that comes playoffs. I think that they are very predictable in what they do and i think they are limited. They have athlethes on the roster they just don’t know how to use them. There’s isn’t any reason that number 80 shouldn’t have at least 7 touchdowns, and the last two games they have frozen number 9 out. So it will be interesting to see what kind of game plan they come up with outside of putting the burden on Summers.

  33. Ron, You be a good man and send your son to the school in his zone. Your son is in school to get an education. Being a good football player will take care of itself. If you your son goes to the correct school and does well, then you can sleep at night knowing that you did the honest thing by your son. I am in the business and I share information all the time with other executives and I can tell you that we speak all the time about the subordinates that serve us. I know that coaches do the same thing. How would you feel if coaches began to say that you are a cheater because you moved your son to a new school. You are teaching your son a bad thing. If his home school is weak and he makes them strong, then he gets all of the credit. Your son needs to be part of something that he and his colleagues can build on. Your son needs to help define a program, but do not let the program define him.

  34. Ron–I understand your points..especially in the last post. James Summers is hands down the top player on my Pirate’s team yet at the same time, not too many outsiders know that there is so much more talent to add to him. Davonte Hooker ring a bell? OK…what about Shaun Workinger? Ed Britt? DeAnthony Brooks? The things I LOVE about these guys is that they learned their roles on the team and have to be some of the most unselfish young men I have ever come across. It takes a LOT of patience, tenacity and (sometimes) humbleness to know that you are just as equally talented as the next person yet willing to relinquish what you have for the greater good of the team. A lot of parents would’ve pulled their sons out of Page to give them the opportunity to showcase their talent at other schools but I’m GLAD they didn’t. Like I’ve said before, Page’s talent goes deep and it’s not that they’re not utilized, they rise to the occasion when NEEDED.

  35. Point well taken…Those guys are pretty descent. Workinger is a work horse. He is a hard nosed gritty kid. All i’m saying is if you have it in the tool box use it. You can’t expect your tools to work for you when they haven’t been used.

  36. “The things I LOVE about these guys is that they learned their roles on the team and have to be some of the most unselfish young men I have ever come across. It takes a LOT of patience, tenacity and (sometimes) humbleness” – beautifully said UU! You’re all making making sensible points here. Here’s another scenario: In some cases, I sadly believe that coaches sometimes ‘stifle the talent’ a good player has, to safely secure a win for ‘himself’ by playing conservatively; which I understand, to a point. It’s just that, in the meantime, the unselfish, humble player gets overlooked by college recruiters – some playing since they were toddlers. Playing ball could be the only shot they have at a college, and keeping their lives on track. Coaches: think twice before you hold these guys back – remember it can also ‘cost’ you that win you want so bad.

  37. It’s funny to hear all this talk about Page not being this are that from the so called Football mines , Page can’t do this are that, can’t beat this team are that team because their lineman are to small. When I first moved to Texas. I saw ODESSA PERMIAN High School (MOJO) play. They Did not have one lineman over 200lbs and they were not the most athletic team, but they made it to the state 5A championship and won. So don’t say what a team can are can’t do . If page plays with Heart. They will always have a 50/50 chance to win. what some do not understand is Rankings don’t main a thing at play off time. You have to first make it out of your region. Some will and some want. So we will see how far page will go.

  38. Yes I hate the Page fans that come on here, especially you UU (you get on here every week running your mouth), so enjoy your little season and be prepared to get your butt spanked by Mallard Creek, I cant wait to hear all the excuses then when u play and get knoced down off of that little pedestal you like to sit on, not to mention this will be the last time your pirates get this hype for a while, so enjoy it untill you meet Mallard Creek,.

  39. The old saying goes dont hate the player, hate the game
In this case, I hate your fans, not your players
In fact, if it wasnt for them being so annoyting on the message boards I would be at every game pulling for you guys.

  40. Don’t really have a dog in the Page fight but I do know this. They play the games so we don’t have to decide who’s better on a blog. Thought and prayers with Mr. Mccoys family. He has been calling games around Guilford county for a long time.

  41. I will be sure to post your statement “Next year will be different” on the board in the Page locker room. That statement was made based on limited knowledge. You know nothing about any of the players coming up. The one fact about the next year seniors is that have not lost a regular season game in 3 years. They went 10-0 and 10-0 in their JV seasons and 10-0 this season. Page has a good situation where they don’t have to depend on sophmores to fill out a good varsity. I am not saying SEG will not be good next year but don’t think Page will be a push over.

  42. I want to start by saying, that you adults should start by posting as if your son was on the team you are posting about. However you want to cut the pie, Page is still undefeated. For all of you nae sayers, Page played those Charlotte teams that you speak so highly of at the beginning of the year in scrimmages, and beat them too. Then for you to insult the rest of the teams by saying they weren’t good and there is no talent in GC, you should be ashamed of yourselves. Ron if I were your son I would run away from home, because what I hear you saying is “my son is not talented enough to shine no matter where he goes, so I’ll make sure I send him to a school were he can get a title by piggy backing off his team mates!!!” Also for those of you who want to bring up the past, Page lost to Butler (the state champions) last year by 3 td. I want to remind you that Butler never took out their starters and a few of Page’s seniors said they gave up in the 4th. Page’s 2011 team is better then the 2010 team and 2010 kept The State Champions to one of their lowest scoring games. Whereas Smith (the conference champions), got knocked out 1st round as did a lot of other area teams around here. Page lost 2nd round to State Champions in a higher division. Now I can’t see any other teams around here putting up that kind of fight. Now to jump back to the season at hand. After Page played Ragsdale, Page had a target on their backs. Teams brought every kind of play they could think of at Page. Page was simply just the better team. As for y’all to say that James Summer carries Page is dead wrong. I will not go into what James does wrong because I have more class then that, but I will say that James is not responsible for holding teams to negative yards, shut outs and scoring on defense. James just is in the most popular position in football. Page not only has talent but where their talent and size lack, they have hard work. Best of luck to all the teams around that are in the playoffs. I will always pull for my Guilford County teams.

  43. Confused about how a Page fan could be upset by my post. I wrote I think next year will be a different story. That statement was not based on limited knowledge. I am well aware of Page’s JV record over the past 3 yrs. If you think my comment ‘I think next year will be a different story’ is needed to motivate Page football….then post it all over locker room. I’ll autograph the banner for you! If any kid at SEG doesn’t think they can beat Page next year, they don’t need to be playing a competitive sport!

If I were to listen to the guy who posted ‘To Damon’….I should just tell my little brother not to ‘think’ they have a chance to beat Page next year, or start looking for rental property for my parents in the Page district. Don’t knock me for supporting my little brother and his teammates. Why don’t go and comment on someone who is actually dismissing Page’s accomplishments.

To Mike…not sure why UU gets under you skin. She seems to be a positive supportive parent and fan who keeps things in perspective. I wouldn’t categorize her as annoying. Were you in Philly throwing rocks at Santa Claus?

StopthH8…..you croseed the line. Ron can live where ever he chooses to live. I chose to live in the SEG district because I felt like it was the best possible choice for my family at the time. It wasn’t for football! It was becasue of the teachers and administrators. Ron said he likes both schools, That’s all he said. He’ll make the best possible choice for his kids just like all of us will do for ours.

Once again….Good luck to Page and stay healthy. I hope you bring a title home to Guilford County. I wish I could be there when you play the ‘Big Boys’. Bring a sling shot and lots of rocks!

  44. To Damon, why u taking shots at me? you dont know me boy, did u go to southeast guilford? you know all those fields and lights you practgice on and under, someone dear to me paid for those out of his own pocket so i would shut your trap! I have been around and been involved with these local schools longer then you could ever dream of, yeah , i might come off as an azzhole, but i just call it like i see it, and I cant stand when parents get on here and brag and run there mouths about there teams, stfu and play ball.

  45. Vegas Mike,

You’re an idiot! I don’t care who paid for those lights! You need to watch your mouth with the boy crap! It’s 2011 and ignorance is out of style. You obviously have no clue who you’re talking to. I’m not some high school kid! I understand that with your limited vocabulary and reading comprehension, you may not have been able to pick up on that. I pay Guilford County taxes just like you and are a resident of the state of NC.

If you can’t stand parents being on a blog and talking about the teams and plsyers they support………..then leave! I’ve been standing tall in the face of adversity since 73¨. Go pick on someone who might actually flinch!

  46. Mike….Mike….Mike…..
    .
I promise, you are a very interesting, entertaining individual. (You know, you can tell a lot about a person based on how they blog) I can recall trading comments with you in two posts that were very respectful but I guess you’re still “salty” about me joshing you the other day and chose to completely ignore those, huh? Whelp….in essence, it’s ok. You’re entitled to your opinion of me because in all sincerity, I don’t need your opinion of me (in a blog of all places) to define who I am. With that, I’ll simply let you have your space. I wish your team(s) much success entering into the playoffs.

  47. Yeah, Page fans are hard to stomach especially the “media guy” Joe! Page fans, I hope u haven’t forgotten about the last time Page had the higher playoff seed and Indy came to your place……….scrimmages and 7 on 7’s are one thing…………now you get to prove you are a championship caliber team. We shall se what happens.

  48. Wow I have been out of town all day and am just now reading these comments. It is quite sickening the level many of you are going to. Certain folks I know are always butt holes on here (one even called himself out above) and try to get everyone else spun up but seems like they are hitting a new low now that the regular season is over.

Hate to hear about the ref that passed last night. I know he died doing what he loved but he will be sorely missed. There are so few folks that are willing to be sports officials. I certainly would be too wimpish to be about to put up with the abuse they receive every week.

Nothing but love from me for Page, Dudley, Ragsdale, and SEG and the rest from the area who made it to the playoffs. Page this is your year to win it all so make us all proud. No matter what the jerks on here say I don’t think it was that much of an off year for the area. It is a great accomplishment to be undefeated.

I do kind of have to chuckle at the Dudley fans on here who berate Page for winning ugly. Maybe you folks missed the SEG and Grimsley games vs Dudley this year. In any case a win is a win and you go to the playoffs and we don’t.

Good luck and hope someone from the area can bring a crown back from the playoffs. UU I am going to try to make it to some Page playoff games. I will have to wear my Grimsley hat but I will be pulling for Page especially against Duck Neck or whatever that team is.

  49. Damon Damon Damon,
You should care for those lights b/c i can assure you that your brother and all the other players before, boosters and parents are very thankful for everything this person has done for that community, and as for calling you a boy, i promise u its nothing i wouldnt say to your face and i can assure you of that!!
P.S. if you could comprehend my post you would understand its the ANNOYING fans and parents i cant stand.

  50. Guys i’m not sending my son to a school because of sports. My son can play with the best of them you can ask Andy on that. The reason I’m sending him to Dudley is because when he comes out of the academy he will be a soph. in college and if he doesn’t get any money for school that’s 2 years that my wife and i don’t have to pay for. If your school offered that then i would consider sending him to your school. Athletically he will do just fine..I promise that!

  51. Mike thanks for the post above. If the guy who provided the lights for Southeast is anything like you…my family wants no parts of it boy! I see why alot of kids opt out of Southeast. Wow! in 2011? Head scratcher there. I’ll make sure i spread the word to the other kids in my neighborhood that may be considering Southeast.

  52. Mike,

I could care less who you know! It doesn’t add weight to anything you say or justify your ignorant behavior. You can play message board gangster all you want, I won’t be sinking to your level.

  53. No Don…This is actually healthy and good to know. I am done responding to social justice challenges. If we’re going to talk about football…let’s talk football.

  54. Page does have a very strong team this year…James Summers can run and manuever the ball better than anyone I have seen. But his passes seem to be a little off this year. Page is going to need both a strong passing and running game to get far into the playoffs. Most people who watch the tapes know what players are going to touch the ball each time – need to switch it up to win tough games against tough teams. Page has a lot of talent – I hope they use all of them as they start this playoff season.

  55. Some others include Carter Stanley, Grant Brewer, Kemp Young and Jordan Putnam. Seems like Jordan could have been utilized a little more with James on the field this year – didn’t see a lot from him and I know he had two great seasons as the Page JV QB. Hope they pulll out all the talent as Page Observer says. Everyone knows who is going to run and catch the ball most plays. switch it up…it may just work.

  56. Hope Kemp Young is doing OK today….Got banged up a little bit last night and had to be attended to by the trainer….Hope he is doing OK…Good kid and they all are and it is time to turn our focus to the Playoffs….Brand new season and time to get ready for Round One this coming Friday night and good luck to all the teams…We have 12 in and the one game survival sessions start now….Time to get ready and see who survives…..Again good luck to all…..Can’t change a whole lot now, but you can fine tune your approach/product…..

Let’s all support these Guilford County teams……

  57. To UU and Damon,
I apologize, ive had a very bad day. Good luck to all of your teams. You both seem like great people and i was being a Jackass.

  58. UU, I love you but you aren’t paying attention…I know you watch Debo every play and rightfully so…You see James, Drew, and Orlando making the big plays, but as far as mixing it up then you need to pay more attention…James threw to six different receivers in the game throwing to Orlando, Brian, Tevin, Carter, Jacque, and Shaun…SIX…A lot of dropped balls as I recall and some over thrown receivers, but I would call that mixing it up except Carter and Tevin were the only players who caught the ball…James, Drew, Shaun, Orlando, and Debo all ran the ball…That is five different ball carriers…FIVE…I would say that is trying to mix it up…I think SEG did a lot to take away some things and if we could have been able to pitch and catch a bit then the score would have been a blowout…Since we didn’t pitch and catch then some of us fans sit and under analyze why the score wasnt a larger margin…Put it this way, had Page been pitching and catching then SEG wouldn’t have stacked the box to take away the run like they were…Both phases of the game open one another up and both need to be on come playoff time or it’s going to be Page’s defense that will carry them threw the playoffs…

  59. I need to pay more attention to what I write too…lol…I meant to say that Page’s defense will carry them through the playoffs and not threw the playoffs…It is late and I need to fall asleep…

  60. To Pay more attention..yes there was a lot of mixing it up against SE. But typically the number of Page players that touch the ball are not as many. We need to keep on with this plan to make it all the way to the big game.

  61. Haters, I feel sorry for you (not really); this season has been a lot of fun and brought a lot of smiles to Page’s fans(to bad the haters had to sit around with frowns on their faces for 10 weeks, causes wrinkles). The smiles come from our boys enjoying the game and feeling good about what they have accomplished. 10-0 is a great feeling. How many of you have personally experienced a season like that?

James Summers is the leader of the team, he would be the leader on any team in NC. The guy is just a great player and person. James is supported by a team of unsung heroes; many of names that do not make the paper each week. James goes out of his way to congratulate each player as they come off the field. I am sure Page will do well in the playoffs.

Why even begin commenting on next season? It will be what it will be. As far as next year’s team, many of these player have never lost a game while playing football at Page. That is three years of being on a team that is undefeated. Wow!!!! I am sure the haters have experienced this in their life LOL.
Page good luck, keep doing what you are doing and as you look back over your accomplishments in your life, 30 years from now, you will always remember playing on the 2011 Page Varsity Football Team. Thanks Coach G for making my son a better person.

  62. Oppenhimerfund,

Now that the playoff schedule is out, we will see who knows what since you want to question what you think I know. Maybe NW won’t spoil that Richmond vs Page game and we can see what team dominates line of scrimmage since I don’t know what I am talking about.
