The stakes are now higher and the HEAT has been turned up for the North Carolina at N.C. State game this Saturday

The coaches are going at it now and the stakes have been raised for the HUGE North Carolina Tar Heels at the N.C. State Wolfpack football game, coming to Carter-Finley Stadium this Saturday afternoon….The HEAT is up and the WAR is on, now that the coaches are talking….

UNC coach Everett Withers is saying his school is the state’s ‘Flagship School/University’ and there is no reason to look elsewhere when it comes to academics and that the Tar Heels’ opponent this week has academic problems and for the most part Coach Withers is saying that N.C. State has numerous academic deficiencies….Withers says just take a look at the graduation rates for the two school’s football teams….

Tom O’Brien has struck back and he said in regards to what Withers was saying…..
In response to Wither’s “flagship” comment O’Brien said, “As far as the flagship, here was a guy (Withers) who was on a football staff that ends up in Indianapolis.” He went on to say, “You have an agent on staff, you are paying players & you have academic fraud. That’s a triple play.”

  1. Tom is spot on.
There are no courses at NC State that do not have a syllabus.
His players go to school, earn their grades & graduate.
UNC is the only football program in this state to ever have to go to Indy.
If Withers talks smack himself just think of the message it sends his players.
Watch for a key penalty for either personal foul or unsportsmanlike conduct to do UNC in on Saturday.

  2. If above is true that is quite some nerve after all that has gone on at Orange County Tech this year. The pearlly white program is tainted. All those years picking on Clemson and Florida State for having cheating programs has come back to haunt you.

We are off the year but as always we will find a way to put UNC in their place when they visit Raleigh this year. 4 and 0 even through the cheating years. Eat that Tarheels!!

  3. This is really gonna get N.C. State fired up if you ask me…..The game has taken on a whole new dimension….

  4. Good luck to the Pack but not sure how we can pull this one out. UNC has a lot of horses, regardless of how they got to campus or how they keep them there. FWIW, I see UNC by 10.

The above post is not me.
