  1. It took a while but Page is up 7 to 0. We’ve got a long way to go before the end of this game.

  2. I won’t give my opinion because no matter what I feel, someone will come on here and dispute it. I WILL say this….Page is GOING to win this game. An ugly win but…..I’ll take an ugly win over a pretty loss anyday.

  3. Because right now….the score is 14 to 0. I knew they would calm down and come out swinging in the second half.

  4. OK….I must witnessed what was CLEARLY unsportsmanlike conduct but alas, no flags. I hopePage scores just because of that!

  5. this just in

    Dudley 29
    Davie 25

final. Dudley hits a pass on 4th and long from the 30 at the end to win the game.

    Guilford County rolling tonight

Northwest at Page next week – THAT will be a good one.

  6. Heard EF was up 28 23 in 3rd.

What was story on James summers not starting tonight? Drew Rogers stepped up big tonight. Summers turn it on in 2nd half. D was outstanding!

    Where is the passing game?

  7. I’m not sure why Summers didn’t start either…Jordan Putnam did a pretty good job out there. He had a lot of good passes and several completed and a long run. Summers did come in Q2 – but we couldn’t get the passing game going. We did finally score in the second half and succeeded with the running game. Rogers and Summers were great runners of the ball on offense. Carter Stanley, William Henry, Ed Britt – some standouts on the defense. I’m not sure why they don’t use both Putnam and Summers more – Putnam to pass or pitch to James? Could be something they may want to try moving forward. In any case great win 21-0!

  8. Congrats to Page and NWG. However it ends for the Vikings next week. Bad matchup for the Vikings. Page dominates the line of scrimmage.

  9. I’m happy for N.W. Guilford { and I’m a Dudley Supporter..lol } tonight. After those years of losing to Richmond Co., they went down there and handle business. Sometimes after losing so many times to the same time at the same place….it can really effect your mind. But I just knew They could do after talking to one of my Managers at work earily. His son in on N.W. team { I forgot his first name }, But the calm pride & passion that he had and how this was his son’s senior yr. how they wanted to beat Richmond so badd !!! PAGE vs. N.W. PART 2 !!! Mr. Barry Knight, I know you are smiling coming back up 220 North (-;

  10. I was thinking of the N.W. vs. Northern GAME…..LOL, Page and N.W. didn’t play this yr……BIG CROWD NEXT WEEK

  11. UU,
Was at the Page game tonight. Looked around for someone singing along with the national anthem…no luck. Then tried to find a lady eating peanut M&Ms. Saw a bunch of them.

Took Page some time to settle in. The field was in bad shape after all the rain and it seemed to me that had an effect on the passing game. They did get the offense going in the second half. Defense looked great. I think this week is a tune up for the rest of the playoffs.

  12. Congrats to all area teams tonight and especially to Page and Dudley for getting big wins for Coach Ken Page. Rest in Peace.

  13. Dudley 29
    Davie county 25

AMAZING COMEBACK!!! By the panthers!! Dudley played with heavy hearts today as they lost the LEGENDARY Coach Ken Page hours before gametime!!!!! The Page Pirate and Dudley Panther community lost a great man and great coach today!! After being down 25-7 in the second half after Dudley killed themselves with turnovers they went to the wing t and ran it right down their throats.. Keenon Sharpe had 3tds to bring the panthers back in the game! Dudley got the ball back with 5 minutes in the game and went wing T and spread to move the ball down the field! After a intentional grounding the panthers had a 4th and 30 from about the davie county 35 and Qb Richard Hayes rolled left and threw backright and found Brandon Reynolds for a acrobatic catch over 2 davie defenders and Reynolds jumped and got flipped into the endzone for a touchdown with 6 seconds remaining! Dudley’s guardian Angel blew the ball right to Reynolds for the game winning touchdown!!!! R.I.P. Coach Ken Page!! This game was for you

  14. Gfan–

I thought about you as soon as I settled in at the game tonight. I looked around for a Whirlies hat but didn’t see one. At any cost… we had a rocky start but I knew they were going to settle down and take over the second half. Jordan started and finished as our 1/4 back and I’m glad he’s getting in the opportunity and experience. This’ll definitely help him out next year.
    .
We did have a couple of new starters tonight and I think it had an effect on our overall performance. However, I KNEW that we were going to turn it around and come out in the second half and dominate.
    .
My hat goes off to Shaun “Workhorse” Workinger tonight. There are a few other defensive players that deserve accolades but Shaun “put in work!”. In fact, the more I think about it…it was clearly our defense that won this game. Like Coach “G” said tonight, we’ll TAKE…one..game..at..a..time!

    Congratulations Pirates!

  15. Agree with you UU. Putnam did a pretty good job. He had 4 or 5 passes with 2 completed and another should have been. He didn’t make any mistakes that I saw. I only saw him one year on the JV when he was a freshman but from what I saw there I think he will definitely be ready to lead the team next year. His passing game is strong. We did finally get it going in the third quarter with our running game. And Summers as usual powered through the defense to score. Along with Workinger, Rogers, Stanley, Britt, and many others – we won this game. Hats off to our defense this season. They have been amazing! Kemp Young had knee surgery on Thursday so is out for the season. I think his loss will definitely be felt and I hope he is doing well. Hats off to your pirates – now let’s go get NW.

  16. Co-Sign Ross. That win was for Coach KP; Thanks for everything Coach and for always having a moment to share a word with me during pre-game. On to Porter Ridge for game 2 next week…

  17. Wayda go Page Pirates, and Dudley Panthers! Glad 2 hear J Putnam got some QB time; He’s gonna be GREAT for the Pirates next year!! Now, if my nerves can only survive the Tigers against N Davidson 2night. Tigers are SUPER hard workers!!! And, with the skills they have, and their ability to work so well together as a team – without a doubt, they can take care of business…Good luck 2night Tigers! I’ll be pullin for u!

  18. Hi Joe–

I intentionally didn’t mention anything about Kemp’s injury. I’m sure that was someone else (further up). The only way I’d mention any specifics is if I were defending a player and to put any “rumors’ to bed.

Another thought—-I was glad to see so many victories coming from our Guilford County schools.
    .
    .
Let’s give ALL OF THESE GC ATHLETES the support they deserve!!!!

  19. Once again North East Guilford cupcake schedule bit them in the but. They are who we thought they are. Maybe they should try to get Northern, Page, Reidsville or Dudley back on the schedule.

  20. I’m sorry UU, I thought it was you that brought up Kemp’s injury earlier, it was Page Observer.

  21. Not picking a winner but don’t be surprised if Northwest shocks a few people. Can’t wait for this game.
