This week my first vote would go out to T.J. Logan, from Northern Guilford…..Got a chance to see him and his team LIVE last Friday night and the kid can do it all from his runningback spot…..He is the real deal and only a junior and last Friday night he had 206 yards on 20 carries, with 2 TD’s and ran a punt back 54 yards to set up a Daniel Downing touchdown…..Logan had another TD on a long run that was called back, due to a Nighthawk penalty and this kid is lethal….Big night for T.J. Logan and his Nighthawks and very good job by the offensive line, cause once you give him some space and he gets outside, he is gone…..Solid defense by the NG sqaud to make their Nighthawk night complete…

A vote for Drew Rogers from Page…..He jump-started the Pirate offense when they needed a spark and he did it to the tune of 191 yards on 26 carries and the big play that sprung Page loose, was the 75-yard run to the end zone by Rogers, that helped solidify the Pirate victory…..Another strong game by the Pirate defense, as they picked up their 5th shut out of the year…..

People are still talking about the catch by Ragsdale’s Brandon Walker that ended up going for 73 yards and a Tiger TD back on Saturday night, in the Rasdale win over North Davidson…..Walker has stepped up many times this season on runs, receptions, and returns for Ragsdale and he was getting a good ball to catch on Saturday night, from senior QB Garrison Herndon….

Northwest Guilford got two touchdowns from Reid Baxter and one from Dalton Dillon and the Vikings rode their running to a two-touchdown win over Richmond County, at Rockingham….Baxter has won POW before and so has NWG senior QB Matt Pawlowski and maybe a nod going out to Dillon this week….NWG gained 203 on the ground and we don’t have a breakdown, but it must have been good…..They won……

Southeast Guilford got cranking at Northern Durham with some heavy ‘D’ and the offense was heading into the passing lane too and this time their were passing Northern Durham Knights laying on the ground, as the Falcons went flying and running by them for 317 rushing yards, on the evening…..Phillip Petty with 109 yards and 2 TD for SEG and JP(Jamal Petty) with 108 yd. and 1 TD for SEG……Willis Hunt led SEG on the ‘T'(Tackling), with 8 solos and two of those went for losses…..

The Dudley Panthers rushed for 323 yards at Davie County and Keenon Sharpe led the way for the Panthers with 107 yards rushing and 3 TD’s…..The shot heard round Mocksville and Davie County-proper though, was the catch by Dudley’s Brandon Reynolds on a pass from Richard Hayes and it continues to be obvious that Reynolds and Hayes are a Big-Plays combo…..

For Northeast Guilford, in the Rams’ loss to Burlington Williams, junior QB Tyrone Hammer had 137 yards rushing and he scored two touchdowns…..

For other nods, make some nominees….Go to andy@greensborosports.com…….That’s andy@greensborosports.com…..Vote soon and often, election day is upon us……..

  1. I vote for Justin Smith on the way he coached this weekend in a 12U tournament………………..

  2. It amazes me that TJ has not won once this year. This kid is having a big year and he deserves the honor after that big game on Friday.

  3. I still say…after Andy posts the athletes name(s) and all the stats, it simply goes down to a popularity contest. I don’t know that much about T.J. Logan (other than when he played against Page) but week after week, that young man’s name is ALWAYS a standout and it amazes me that he hasn’t won by now. Could it be that he’s a junior and they plan on giving him his “just due” next year? IDK but, sitting where I’m sitting, I think he should’ve won by now. #justmyopinion

  4. According to WS Journal, Hayes rushed for 135 on 21 carries and went 6-11 for 113 and the game winning TD pass. My panthers march on!
