North Carolina coach Roy Williams tells UNC fans/ticket-holders to “Stay Home”

North Carolina Tar Heel basketball fans that were out in Las Vegas, Nevada for the UNC-UNLV game last week sold their tickets to UNLV fans, that ended up getting to sit right behind the North Carolina Tar Heel bench….Do it again and basketball coach Roy Williams has a few words for you….“Do not come back to my games. Don’t act like you’re supporting us,” Williams said.

“I am not friendly with anybody else on the other team and for some of our fans to get their tickets through the Ram’s Club and sell their tickets to UNLV boosters that are sitting right behind our families, I don’t like that,” Williams said. “And if the shoe fits, wear it. I don’t care who it is, I’ll tell the sucker face-to-face, I do not like that, will not like that and don’t ever forget it…”

As he continued, Williams went as far as to tell those fans who sell prime UNC tickets to simply stay home.

“Do not come back to my games. Don’t act like you’re supporting us,” Williams said. “Don’t act like you’re supporting us by showing up. If all you’re going to do is sit there and be so negative and yell negative things and say negative things beside one of our coaches’ wives…”

  1. Someone tell ol Roy that people paying those high price tickets pays his @#$ that 7 figure salary to coach a kids game! Block out those idiot fans yelling at you and just win! JUST SAYIN…..

  2. Ole Roy needs to chill.
    If anyone has a ticket to one of “HIS” games he/she can do whatever the hell they want to do with it.That means up to and including: using it and attending the game or selling it or giving it away.If I were Roy I would be focusing on my team and how they are playing rather than who is in the stands.
    Maybe the Presbyterian fan from last season was on vacation in Las Vegas. What a self absorbed dingbat Roy either is or has become.

  3. Roy it is good that you let opposing teams know that we are getting to you. I kind of thought the fan that Roy had thrown out was an isolated event. Since UNC is already in a heap of trouble it is also good that you are trying to run off your fan base in the Rams Club. Trouble is UNC fans are so stupid mostly they do not know when they are being insulted.

  4. Since when was it all about Roy? I didnt know it was “HIS” games and not UNC and the young men playing in the game. If you cant handle the heat from other fans maybe you are in the wrong business and if your own supporters are selling their tickets to other fans, then let them do that. Roy you and your team should take that as motivation to play harder and prove those fans wrong for selling their tickets. Not be a bitch about it afterwards and complain abou them doing it. This is 2 years in a row of him complaining about fans. I am a diehard carolina fan and was excited when we hired Roy and he has won the school 2 National Titles but i get tired of him complaining and bitching all the time. Especially about fans.

    Here is a suggestion Roy how about talk good about your fans and supporters and not negative about them and maybe they will do a better job of cheering on the team and not sell tickets to any of Carolina’s games or as Roy likes to call them (HIs Games)

  5. The way I see it, sitting in those seats is a privilege. Yes, I know it is a paid privilege. Not just anybody gets those seats. And selling the tix to opposing teams, though legal and certainly within your “rights”, is an abuse of that privilege. If you dont want to go then dont take/buy the seats. Some other UNC fans would love to have them. Those seats are where they are for a reason.

    Some of you guys outta try cheering “FOR” your own team and not worry so much about other teams. I do realize however that some of you do not have much to cheer for now that is basketball season. (thank goodness)

  7. This is a no brainer….If I was Roy I would be upset too. He’s protecting his players. It’s hard enough to play without a bunch of “BS” in your ear…right behind the bench! Come on people… you understand reason! If you gonna sale your ticket…sale to a Tar-heel fan that prides in supporting the team and wants good seats to support their team. Shame on you Heel Fans …support the team all the way… This isn’t about “ROY”! Must be feeling pretty guilty….Turn Coats…!!!!
