Scott Loosemore steps down as the head football coach at Eastern Guilford High School

Scott Loosemore met with his players at Eastern Guilford High School this afternoon and informed them that he is stepping down as the Wildcats head football coach….

Scott Loosemore has resigned as the head coach of the Eastern Guilford football team….

I feel certain that Coach Loosemore will begin looking for another football job in Guilford County and for him, that would be a position as an assistant football coach, since there are no current openings for a head coaching position in the County….

We wish Coach Loosemore the best in his new endeavors and have seen him in and around the football field for many years…..I still remember back when Coach Loosemore was a starting lineman for the Southeast Guilford Falcons, back in the 80’s and he later coached there with Falcon head coach Tommy Norwood….

Coach Loosemore also coached at Elon, N.C. A&T, Winston-Salem State and at Eastern Guilford as an assistant, before becoming the EG Wildcats head football coach….

Again, best of luck to Coach Scott Loosemore in his future football work…..

  1. Coach Loosemore we wish you the best of luck! You did a lot for our program and made more playoff appearances than many EG coaches. Took the program to new heights in 07 as that team went as high as 4th in the AP poll starting 7-0. Beat rival Northeast for the first time in like 20 years. You will be missed and we know you will do big things wherever you go!

  2. Coach Loosemore is an outstanding football coach in our area and across the state. He not only is well versed as an offensive coach, but is sound in designing defensive schemes. He has had a significant influence on many young men in our area. He understands that it takes more than star players to develop sound team and program. He has done a great job at Eastern Guilford and deserves an opportunity to continue positively influencing the lives of youg men.

  3. Well said Coach Clontz….The floor is open for all Wildcat fans and Eastern Guilford supporters…….Players too for that matter….IMO, Eastern Guilford is losing a real good coach….

  4. Agreed. Coach Loosemore has done an execellent job during his time at Eastern. He took a program that would struggle to win even 1 game to averaging 5-7 wins on a consistent basis, he turned Eastern into a playoff contender yearly. I have never been around a coach that shows more pride or dedication to his school ever in my life. Eastern Guilford has the absolute best playing surface at any high school in guilford county because of a great deal of work by Coach Loosemore. He was a coach that truely cared about his players, a coach that constantly stays in touch with former players. He brought excitment to the football program that hasnt been there in years, every week when friday rolled around the entire student body would be talking all day about the game which was not the case before Coach Loosemore took the job. I truely believe Coach Loosemore will have tremendous success where ever he may end up. Thank you Coach Loosemore for everything you have done for the players, school and community.

  5. The new HC at EGHS could be sitting on a gold mine. Can’t quite figure out why they aren’t year after year among the top of the local leaderboards.

  6. The reason why is because there is NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO support from the administration or the Athletic director. I have never seen a school that has to share a home and away uniform with the JV’s and it be the only two uniforms the team haswith very little to no help. Money being taken away from fundraisers to help fund other sports. I could go on and on and probably will later when I have the time to type and think of everything. Coach Loosemore is a good man and coach you deserve to be somewhere that your efforts are supported!

  7. Maybe they heard the Loosemore chants at SEG games and AD Smith will finally listen. Bring Coach Loosemore home to SE!!
