CHAPEL HILL — The JV basketball team fell short to Greensboro Day School Wednesday 95-89 in a back and forth game. There were nine ties and seven lead changes, and both teams combined for 11 runs of eight points or more.

The Bengal Tigers led by as many as nine points in the first half and took a 43-36 lead into halftime.

Jalen Ross, who Bengal Tigers’ Coach Fred Johnson says is being recruited by Southern and Colonial Conference schools, finished with 27 points.

“He’s a monster,” said UNC coach Jerrod Haase. “He had the ability to score the basketball, and I did a poor job of coaching because we did not go over the top on some screens late in the game.”

“I was expecting him to miss at some point, and he just didn’t.”

JT Terry, was Greensboro Day’s second leading scorer with 15 points…..

  1. Looking forward to seeing the Bengals and Ravenscroft. There will be a number of D-1 players on the court tomorrow night. Should be an awesome atmosphere and a great game.

  2. This should be a great game tonite on Lawndale Drive. Either team could win. I was told that there will be lots of college coaches there tonite. Both teams have a number of D1 players. Lets hope the game ends in a Day School win.
