You look around the meetings today at the Greensboro Coliseum for the Pizza Hut Invitational basektball tournament special announcements and there was young blood in the building/Terrace Room at the Coliseum and the new guard of sports leaders might be getting ready to take on the charge…..
‘Big Red’/’The Red Snapper’ Ethan Albright was in there and he is already showing take charge and leadership skills, as he moves on board toward the Greensboro Sports Council….Robert Hogewood, son of former WFMY NEWS 2 Sports anchor Mike Hogewood was in the building and he knows the local sports scene and he is poised to step up/step out and lead in the advancement of the local sports community…..Demp Bradford is already leading in his capacity with the Greensboro Sports Commission and Tom Ward would be glad and proud to see the job that Demp and Kim Strable have been doing……
Bill Welch Sr. from Time Warner Cable 14 was in the house and his son Bill Jr. is over teaching and coaching at the Greensboro Day School and Bill Jr. is quickly developing his sports mindset and he will be part of the ‘Inner Circle’ of the city in the future…..
Richard Beard is not all that old and he is getting ready to grab his second turn as the Chairman of the PHI Tournament in 2012….Beard can create the bread and Steve Warren has done an excellent job of doing that, as they head down the home stretch for the 2011 PHI…..
There is plenty of young blood out there and you’ll see the Albright brothers(Ethan and Eric) coaching a youth baseball team in the Greensboro Parks and Recreation Departments Summer League in 2012…..Young blood is running and soon they will be running our city and we better treat these future leaders with good intentions, cause they will be calling the shots, when the shots are fired at the Pizza Hut Invitaionals, for the next 25-30 years……
