4-A Raleigh Wakefield defeated 1-A River Mill 81-57 in the Girls Holiday Showcase Tournament in Thomasville.
Wakefield jumped out to a 24-15 lead at the end of the first stanza. River Mill fought back and cut the gap to three, by the 3:20 mark
of the second quarter. Wakefield responded with five consecutive three-pointers however, and took a 43-31 lead into halftime.
Wakefield finshed the game with 14 threes, and held a 43-21 advantage on the boards. Makayla Williams scored 26 points for the victors, while
Elon University signee Lauren Hudson added 15.
