More on Ragsdale-SWG and Rouse’s 37 for Tigers, while Saxton Cotton and frosh KJ Langley were leading Cowboys with 10 each

Courtesy of Greg Vlazny and he always does a great job with the game reports from the Southwest Guilford Cowboy games……Thanks to Vlaz….

The Cowboys of Southwest played hosts to the Tigers of Ragsdale in a Piedmont Triad
4A Conference battle. This was the first time around for these rivals in the
2011-2012 campaign, and unfortunately only one team showed up. The Tigers came out
and out hustled and commanded this game from the tip. After the first quarter the
visitors held a 16-10 lead. The lead slowly stretched out to as many as 13, but the
Cowboys showed a twinkle of heart and cut it down to an 8 point deficit, but
Ragsdale quickly responded before the halftime break at 38-28. The Cowboys had a
quick response with their own 4-0 run to make it 38-32. From there the Tigers
hustled it back out to a 58-39 lead. Southwest closed the third frame with another
quick 5-0 spurt for a 58-44 tally. The fourth continued with the Cowboys with 4 more
straight points to make it 58-48. Southwest only managed to trade baskets and never
got a grip on the game and couldn’t make up the ground, and fell to a 84-71 defeat.
The Cowboys were lead by Saxton Cotton and KJ Langley’s 10 points apiece. Ragsdale
was lead by Bryan Rouse’s 37 points. The Cowboys are hoping to find a heart surgeon
because they turn right back around and play tomorrow night at Western Guilford.

  1. SW got out played! Great coaching job by Ragsdale and the players really executed well. SW defense is horrific. They underestimated their opponent and got smashed! Wake up now Cowgirls…oops…Cowboys, or it will be over in the next few weeks.

  2. Cowboys win the next game by 30!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Had a bad game and got caught slippin…it won’t happen again!!!!
