The deal was done/signed today with former Greensboro Grasshopper pitcher Chris Volstad(2006) headed to the Chicago Cubs and Carlos Zambrano is on his way to the Miami Marlins, in the pitching exchange…..
The 6’8 Volstad was 32-39 with the Marlins(Florida) as a starter over the past four seasons and the volatile Zambrano gets the chance/opportunity to work with new Marlins’ manager Ozzie Guillen and we’ll see if the Marlins/Zambrano/Guillen can co-exsist…..
Volstad was due 2.5 million in 2012 and that is the same number the Marlins will be paying Zambrano, as they pick up his contract for 2012…..

The articles keep on saying that Chris has had an 11-year major league career and he played here in Greensboro in 2006 and was with Florida from 2008-2011…..Does not look like 11 years in MLB…..Will someone look into this one???? What is your read?
