Southwest took the trip over to Glenn to face off in a conference matchup. The game
started off back and forth in a dog fight with both teams being very aggressive. The
first frame ended with the Cowboys up 19-14. The second quarter started off the same
but the Cowboys seemed to take control and extended a lead out to 31-22. But the
Bobcats responded with a 6-0 run to 31-28. A Cowboy 3 stopped the run, but another
quirky 6-1 run by the Bobcats made it 35-34. The Cowboys fought back, but Glenn
ended the half with 5 straight to take the halftime lead 41-40. The second half
started with Glenn still riding the momentum getting up 48-45. Southwest responded
big with a 9-0 run including a 4 point play by Jordan Hanner putting the Cowboys up
54-48 with roughly 4 minutes left in the third. The latter part of the third had the
foes trade basket for basket in a frenzy as the quarter drew to a close at 64-59.
Glenn scored the last bucket of the third and continued their run all the way until
it was tied at 65 outs print SW 8-1. It didn’t end there as Glenn made the next
bucket to go up 67-65 at the 4:36 mark. The last 4 minutes of the game was as
frenetic as can be as Southwest not only gave up 3 straight offensive rebounds on
missed free-throws, but also missed 6 straight of their own. At the 1:04 mark Glenn
lead 76-70 and Southwest came storming back to cut it to 78-76 with 21.6 left. Glenn
made 1 of 2 free-throws but the Cowboys three pointer rimmed out as Glenn knocked in
2 more freebies to take the final tally to 80-76. Southwest was lead by Jordan
Hanner (22), Ray Bridges (11), Herbie Bridges (11), and KJ Langley (11). Glenn was
lead by Zane Waterman (23) and Trey Lofton (22).
