  1. im just curious and on how you have dudley HIGHER then southeast guilford in the boys polls.. but in the combined poll you have southeast guilford and no dudley.. not trying to cause a stir. just curious

  2. Thanks, with all the pollls that’s one adjustment that I forgot to make….With all of these polls I am about to go Polish out here….Change in place and if others see others that might need to be made, let me know….We want to be the poll setters and trend setters….

  3. Can you expand a little on what goes into the ranking? Not looking for a BCS formula or anything. But in the girls overall, you have Bishop, a 1A school that plays 1A opponents, over schools that are 3A and 4A.

Not taking anything away from the BM girls teams, but do they face the same level of competition week after week that the 3A and 4A teams do?

  4. We start out with overall record, then look at head-to-head and then on to how they do versus like conference opponents and then many times in the end it comes down to how I think teams will do versus others teams in the poll that may be ranked above or below them…..I have pretty much seen all the teams play this season with the exception of teams like Calvary Baptist girls and I have a pretty good idea how certain teams will fare when they would meet and some of that will be based on how they are playing right now when they meet…..At times teams may have been playing real well on certain run, but at the current time they may be playing down….It helps that I see games pretty much every day of the week Monday-Friday and often times on Saturday and then sometimes if I am lucky I might get to play against some of the kids here and there on a Sunday and over the years that has been the norm and I get to talk to them about what it going on with the teams…..It is not a pure science, but it is not a bad system….I don’t do anything just for the heck of it, although that may appear to be the case sometimes, but there is a method to this madness….

  5. Andy,

Appreciate the great work you do. Realize it’s a thankless task, as you react/respond to the biased opinions of us fans.

But it might be about time to give Caldwell some love in your rankings. Our record may not be stellar, but in the 2nd half of the season we’ve beaten NGFS (your #4 team), Carolina Friends at their place (and they were #4 in the state at the time in the #2A Private School rankings), Burtlington Christian this past Tuesday (who had beaten Westchester the week before), and last night we got revenge against Westchester ourselves as we beat them by 15. Don’t know anything about Bishop McGuiness, not guaranteeing we can beat NGFS again next Friday (though expect us to) and don’t have any illusions that we can play on a night in basis against the top 3 here (GDS, HPCA and WCA), but after a lot of early season losses, we might deserve another look in your Private top 5. If Emeka gets healthy and joins Matthew and Michael down low, our 5 guards keep contributing and improving against the press, we certainly could make some noise in conference and state playoffs and give some team’s some ‘nightmares’.

  6. I got to start looking closer at Caldwell again….NGFS plays Pace today and I need to hear more from the Bears too….Send me any pertinent info on CA Eagles with record, head-to-head etc. to andy@greensborosports.com

  7. Caldwell bench like Corey Ganim and Mason Wyrick and senior Daniel Brannon have played strong last few weeks. Ganim posting doubles in boards. Good to keep some info coming in as CA has potential to explode in conference play.
