Lots of tournament action under way and there are still a few Regular Season games to look at, with two big ones in the PACIS(Piedmont Athletic Conference for Independent Schools) and those two are:
Greensboro Day School(27-3) at Forsyth Country Day
REAL BIG ONE HERE and with a victory, this game would give HPCA the regular season title……[High Point Christian(28-1) at Wesleyan(20-6)]….WES won the first meeting between these two independents in a game played at HPCA….If WES wins toight there will be a three-way tie for first in the PACIS with GDS, HPCA and WES……
Also for our local Bears we have:
Westover Christian at New Garden Friends School
Just found out that New Garden plays Westover christian Academy tonight at 7.
Caldwell boys are #1 seed and start TAC tournament tonight at home against American Hebrew Acadmy. Also, girls are seeded #2 and also play AHA at Caldwell. Games begin at 4:30.
Would be absolutely shocked if Wesleyan was to beat HPCA again – but then again, I was shocked when they beat them the first time. Expect HPCA to run past them, maybe by double digits.
History has a way of repeat itself. This has been a wild year. HPCA beating GDS twice. GDS beating WES twice. It would be the perfect wild year if WES beat HPCA to complete the circle. It would also make the pending state playoffs just that more interesting. Ravenscroft and Christ School are as dangerous as any team in the state. Tonights game and a win by WES would just be the icing on the cake. I am not a WES support but go WES just for the drama of the situation.
Watch Out…..Hope you are right on 3/3/12 in Durham.
Do anyone know the outcome of the GDS girl’s game at FCD? If GDS won, they would be undefeated in the conference?
Obviously the GDS girls were not going to lose to FCD. The teams in the conference with GDS are terrible. GDS has won all of their conference games by at least 30 points with ease. The real games will not start until the 2nd or 3rd round of the state playoffs. GDS has far too much talent for their conference. The GDS “2nd team” could have went undefeated against this conference.
