Looking back at Tuesday night’s Page-Davie County game with Marcus Demery Jeter

The highly anticipated match up between Page High and Davie County began with Davie county jumping out to a 9 point lead led by senior guard Nate Jones. It seemed Davie was going to get rid of Page quickly ending the first quarter with a score 25-16. The second quarter seemed to be all Page, led by
Frank Eaves, Page went on a 12-2 run to take the lead. A monster jam by James Summers really gave the Pirates momentum going into the break.

At the halfway mark the the score was Page 37 Davie 35. The third quarter seemed to be evenly
matched with Frank Eaves and Nate Jones going toe-to-toe with one another. Ending the third with a score of 58-55 Page.

In the fourth Page made a very conservative decision, deciding to hold the ball for
a numerous amount of minutes. This decision would come back to haunt them in the end. A crucial Caleb Martin basket with 19 seconds left gave Davie County the lead for good at 68-67. At the end of the game the final score was Davie winning 72-67 over the Pirates. Frank Eaves scored 22 points to lead the Pirates, but the player of the game without question was senior guard Nate Jones
who scored a game-high 30 in the victory. Davie moves on to play West Charlotte in the semifinals.
