Games due up for today and be sure and send us your scores, at the end of the day…Send to this spot at the site, or to our HS Baseball Tonight post, or to andy@greensborosports.com….Loads of games today and this might be the day, where you can see one game at 5pm and then catch another at 7pm….

Today/Tonight:
Vandalia at Caldwell Academy 4:30pm….Caldwell has one of the top NCISAA 2-A teams..
Southwest Guilford at East Davidson 4:30pm….East Davidson over SG on Monday…SWG Cowboys have deep pitching…
Providence Day at Greensboro Day 4:00pm..GDS needs 7 innings here….
Southeast Guilford at Smith 5pm..SEG can go with Bain…He nearly no-hit Smith in 2011..Southern Alamance at SEG on Friday…
Southern Guilford at Trinity 5pm…SG faces tough Bulldog bunch on the road..Trinity coach(Rob Shore) part of Hi-Toms Junior Legion program…
Wesleyan at North Davidson 5pm….WES got thumped hard by Cary Academy back on Saturday…Need bounce-back win here….
Carolina Friends at Westchester Country Day 5pm…WCD off to very good start…Adam Kirkman has been strong arm….
Page at High Point Andrews 5pm…Coach Randy ‘Nat’ Norris goes up against his old team and not many secrets between these two…Hidden-ball trick will be hard to pull off on the Pirates….
Glenn at Northwest Guilford 6pm….Keaton Haack, Adam Swim, Jackson Bellenkes and Haack is your ace for NWG….Need ‘ace-like’ effort to beat Glenn…
Ragsdale at WS Parkland 6pm….Ragsdale could go (3-0) to start the season with a win today and they should get it….
Northern Guilford at Eastern Alamance 6pm….Northern is the ‘favorite’ in the Mid-State 3-A Conference and they should use that title, to begin a title run today….
Wheatmore at Northeast Guilford 7pm…First of three games this week for NEG and this one should get the week off to good start and the Rams now know where they are/where they stand, after a loss by one run to South Point at Hickory, back on Saturday….
Dudley at Southern Alamance 7pm….Kimber or Burkes for Panthers? Kimber usually thrives in situations like this and this will be a very tough road game/test for Dudley…
Western Guilford at Grimsley 7pm….Both teams need this win to find a space in the Metro 4-A Conference race and this might be for third place….SEG and Southern Alamance are calling for dibs on the top-two tiers and third might be the spot that will be up for grabs with WG, Grimsley and Dudley….Maybe not, just a thought….
Eastern Guilford at Morehead 7pm….EG wants to be a player and they have the players to do it….This Wildcat bunch is loaded with seniors and led by Gunn, Holleman, Hunt, Hedrick, Wolf, Robertson, the Doyles, the junior Hackett and company….
High Point Central at East Forsyth 7pm…Bison need Hason Butler to be the chauffeur tonight and drive his team to victory, with a solid mound outing….The Butler could get cooking and then HPC will be in this game…Butler and Kimber(Dudley) both pitched one week ago and they both should be ready for their second start tonight….
Burlington Williams at McMichael 7pm…Should be about time for us to see Alan Sharpe again for the Williams Bulldogs and this should make for a good conference clash….

*****Again, don’t forget to send us your scores….*****

  1. Unfortunately them being declared the favorite will not help them tonight against nick Monroe!

  2. Look for McMichael to have some momentum coming into the game against Williams after upending 4A Reagan High last night by a score of 7-5.

  3. In the mid-state 3A here’s what I see happening: E.Alamance 4 N.Guilford 2, Mcmichael 6 Williams 4, Morehead 7 E.Guilford 5, W. Alamance 7 Rockingham 2.

  4. Good call on Nick Monroe….Currently batting .333 for (2-0) Eastern Alamance and he stands 6’4 and weighs in at 215….This Mid-State 3-A is a tough conference with NG, BW, EG, now EA and WA, plus McMichael is on the move…..Good call on the McMichael win last night over WS Reagan…..Arendas, Mas, Coltrane and Morgan, plus others have to get it moving for Northern……

  5. EG gave NEG a decent game last week and for EG with the load of seniors, this needs to be a peak year for the WIldcats….And NG has those other kids that I was mentioning and Tripp Dunn is another kid that can play for the Nighthawks….This Mid-State 3-A is heating up….Good stuff….

  6. And I was curious, does HP Andrews have lights???(Pretty sure Greensboro Day does not and therefore 4pm starts and NO night games at Greensboro Day.) Daylight Savings Time will hit this coming weekend and we will then have all the light we need…..

  7. Monroe struck out 13 Saturday in a 3-2 win against Southern Alamance. NG will probably get Latell who’s pretty could also, can’t see him bringing Monroe back on short rest this early in the season and don’t sleep on EA. They’ll have a good shot to repeat. No gimme games in the Mid State this year, should make for some exciting baseball.

  8. My prognosis is Smith 7, Southeast Guilford 6
    Northwest Guilford 8, Glenn 7

The rest of you are on your own. The upset special will happen. Have never missed on one of those.

  9. My prognosis for today is Smith 7, Southeast Guilford 6

  12. My prognosis for today is Smith 7, Southeast Guilford 6

My predictions are never wrong. The upset special will happen today and for the rest of teams? They are on own their own. I have never missed one upset pick.

  13. My prognosis for today is Smith 7, Southeast Guilford 6
    Northwest Guilford 8, Glenn 7

The rest of the teams are on their own. I have never been wrong about one of my upset specials and I feel good about today’s picks. My motto is Get Win Soon.
