  1. Congrats to those that made it but,
Wow!! You mean no Clency, no Burnett, no Shutt or Hailey.

According to Max preps the top scorers for the Metro were in this order

    Clency
    Goins
    Shutt
    Key
    Hailey
    Rouse
    Robinson
    Johnson
    Greer
    Phillips

Burnett should be in there but SA does not participate in Maxpreps.

  2. This is the District team for district 7. Southern Alamance is in District 6 and Shaylen Burnette was the district 6 player of the year.

  3. This team has nothing to do with maxpreps. it is chosen by the members of the North Carolina Basketball Coaches Association. district 7 is guilford, davidson, and forsyth counties. If a coach isn’t a member of the NCBCA they can’t nominate or vote for players. if your deserving player is not on the list ask her coach if she joined the NCBCA.

  4. Every school should be required to post their results from each and every game. What is there to hide? SWG post their results every game and it has nothing to do with the end results.

  5. How do you know that she is not the Metro POY?
Has there been a posting somewhere of the Metro All Conference selections?
Basketball is over now, looks that information would have been put in the News and Record by now.
Oh, I forgot that the N&R does the worst job of covering high school sports in the state.

  6. Yeah whats up with that Andy. Who is the Metro players of the year and coaches of the year? why is it being kept on the hush hush? Please post if you can find out who is what.

  7. From what I heard through the vine and not from any coaches, but I’m pretty sure it is right is that Frank Eaves, boys Player of the Year and Paris Kea, girls Player of the Year Metro 4-A….I think that is a lock based on what I was hearing at the Tournament(Conference)….Coach of the Year, girls, I would say Ron Boggs at Southern Alamance for girls and Coach Price at Dudley for the boys…..I think Coach Price will be stepping down officially at the end of the school year…….That’s all I have for now….May be off on a few, but I do believe that is the skinny….

  8. So if a player is the best player in the state and their coach is not a member of
NCBCA then that player will not get recognized no higher than all-conference or
all-area. The NCBCA controls all the district and state honors. I suppose that the NCBCA
is the only group that has taken on the responsibility. Wonder why NCHSAA does not get
involved? Just can’t understand why a coach should have to pay in order to get his players
recognized. Looks to me like this may be very political. The NCHSAA may have said that they
want nothing to do with it and the NCBCA picked it up. I bet if this is true and the NCBCA had not stepped up
there would be no state recognition for players. I wonder if the coaches association for each sport
oversees the all-state selection process? I still think a coach should be able to nominate and vote without
having to pay. Just my opinion. I guess be thankful that there is a way to make all state even if you have to pay for it.

  9. Who’s on the list of 2012 Metro 4A all conference teams and all tournament teams boys and girls?
