‘Between the Lines’ with High School Baseball Tonight

Dudley at Western Guilford 7pm….They will be honoring former Coach Brett Stell and former Hornet players Scott Muscat and Macon Smith prior to the game and we will have that game for you tonight on AM950 radio and at www.wpetam950.com and we will begin the pre-game at around the 6:30-6:45 mark….

East Forsyth at Southwest Guilford(7-0) 7pm….Very big Pidemont Triad 4-A game here….
Smith at Grimsley 7pm…Smith got a win over Page the other day and Grimsley looking for their first of the season tonight….
Southern Alamance at Page 7pm….Pirates facing one of the toughest Metro 4-A foes in SA Patriots….
High Point Central at Glenn 6pm…Glenn very tough at home and HP Central has Hanson Butler ready and he is one of the top pitchers in the area….
WS Parkland at Northwest Guilford 7pm….NWG has lost two straight close games and they are probably ready for a breakout night tonight…
Northeast Guilford at Southwestern Randolph 7pm…..NEG will most likely look to Jaylin Davis on the hill in this key 3-A Conference game….
Northern Guilford at Rockingham County 6pm….NG needs conference wins and they will look to get one on the road at RC this evening…
Eastern Guilford at Western Alamance 7pm….Wildcats will find the going very tough at Elon area home of WA Warriors….
Southern Guilford at Ledford 7pm…..SG very young, but still very competitive….
Morehead at Burlington Williams 7pm…Williams checks in at (6-1)…
Eastern Alamance at McMichael 7pm….The Phoenix are flying high at (5-0)….
Westchester Country Day vs Carlyle Acaedemy at Forsyth Country Day 1pm….WCD is (5-0)

  1. Huge game for Mcmichael. If they win they would be in control of the conference. I would think it will be low scoring with Monroe pitching against Biggs.

  3. Top of 5 and Southern Alamance 1 – Page 0 – Nick Schofield pitching very strong for the Pirates. SA pitcher doing an excellent job too. Game postponed due to rain – will be completed on Monday night.

  4. A FOOTBALL game broke out at Rockingham County tonight…
    Northern Guilford 24, RC 12.

    LP-David Stadler (2.2 IP)

    NG banged out 18 hits (8 for extra bases). NG jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first when DC Arendas led off with a single and after Sean Mas got hit by a pitch, Trip Dunn doubled home Arendas. A wild pitch scored Mas and Luke Nelson’s sac fly brought home Dunn.

    RC bounced right back to score 4 in the bottom of the first when starter Matt Kaplan yielded 3 straight walks and Steven Fincanon followed with a Grand Slam. Down 4-3, NG put 4 more runs on the board in the 2nd thanks to hits from Hunter Morgan, Arendas, Mas (double, 2RBI), and Nelson (RBI) to take a 7-4 lead.

    RC quickly tied the game at 7 in the bottom of the 2nd w an RBI double from Brian Minter and a 2-run home run from Jake Whicker. In the 3rd, NG scored 7 runs, all with 2-outs, from a 3-run double by Dunn and 2-run homers from both Coltrane and Brant Williams. NG then sent 15 batters to the plate in the 5th, getting 10 more runs from 5 singles (Dunn, Coltrane, Williams, Mason Monroe, Hunter Morgan) follwed by 3 doubles (Andrew Schneider, Arendas, Nelson) along with 3 walks and a hit batter. Mas came in to strikeout the last 3 batters to end the game.
