Gone in an instant, in the twinkling of eye, just like that and Jordan Leonard(Kernodle Middle School) is gone….Coach Leonard(Kernodle Middle School) and Jason Leonard(Northwest Guilford High School) are people that we have met in the past year…Met Coach Leonard at the McDonald’s on Battleground Avenue and Cone Blvd., just two weeks ago and we talked about wrestling, track and football….Coach Leonard was there as the driver for the Northwest Guilford lacrosse team and was there with coach Mark Goldsmith…..Met Jason Leonard back during the fall, when he was a guest on our Shane’s Rib Shack Football in Focus Show, at Shane’s on Westover Terrace….Great talk with Jason about his football and wrestling careers….Jason and NWG played Ragsdale the next night and the Vikings won in Jamestown…..Coach Leonard lost his son and Jason Leonard lost his younger brother last week and our thoughts and prayers will continue to go out for the Leonard family…….Keep their family in mind during this very hard time…..

from the News and Record on Jordan Leonard and the family viewing is set for 7pm tonight at the Forbis and Dick Guilford Chapel, on Friendly Avenue and the memorial funeral service will be held on Monday….Again, this is from today’s News and Record(Sunday)…www.news-record.com:

GREENSBORO — At 8:45 a.m. on March 29, 2012, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem, 14 year old Jordan Elijah Leonard was called to be with the Lord.

A Memorial Service for Jordan will be held on Monday April 2, 2012, at 7 p.m. at Evangel Fellowship Church of God In Christ, 2207 E. Cone Blvd, Greensboro.

Jordan lived to love and help others unselfishly, exuding a spirit of excellence with a smile that warmed the hearts of everyone that knew him. He was an eighth grade student at Kernodle Middle School in Greensboro. As a proud Roaring Cougar, he assisted both the office and coaching staff while representing the football, track and wrestling teams, ending his wrestling career with an undefeated record.

Jordan’s life will be remembered forever by his parents Jason and Yvette Leonard; siblings Jazmyne, Journey, Joshua, Jason, Anthony and a host of family and friends.

  1. My daughter sat next to him in all her classes. She said he was a good friend and great person. Prayers for the family.
