‘Between the Lines’ with High School Baseball for Today/Tonight

Western Guilford at Dudley 7pm…This time Kimber should be on the hill for the Panthers…Last time the Hornets won at WG, 6-3…Not sure who will go for the Hornets, Marrero went the other night vs. Southern Alamance and you have Southeast at WG, this coming Tuesday(April 24)
North Forsyth at Northeast Guilford 7pm….Rams now (14-6) and lost back-to-back games to Southern Alamance and Ledford and they need this one tonight vs. the Vikings….
McMichael at Western Alamance 7pm….Very important Mid-State 3-A game here late in the season….
Burlington Williams at Eastern Guilford 7pm…EG knocked off Western Alamance last time out(8-4) and the Wildcats confidence is riding high, as it should be….Williams will be a very good opponent….
Page at Southern Alamance 7pm…SA is up to (14-6) on the season now and the Patriots are making their late season charge….SA won the first meeting between the two, 10-0….
Morehead at Northern Guilford 6pm…The Nighthawks need every win they can get right now, especially in the conference….
Northwest Guilford at WS Parkland 7pm….Adam Swim out for two weeks is effecting the NWG Vikings….You lose a catcher and a starting/relief pitcher….Bellenkes is steady behind the plate, but it makes it tough, when you are losing the team-experience, of Swim…NWG should be fine tonight and they need this win at Parkland…
Glenn at High Point Central 7pm….HPC is now (11-9) overall and (5-4) in the conference and with Hansen Butler on the hill, they have a great shot tonight against Glenn…..
Grimsley at Smith 7pm…Grimsley is playing better, 14-5 win over NWG and battled in the 2-1 loss to Page, but they better be ready when they go to Smith tonight….Recreation field-type fences at Smith….Will the Golden Eagles choose to pitch to DJ Reader???*****Recreation field look and set-up at Smith and nothing really wrong with that, soccer complex adjacent to the baseball fields and does anybody really know for sure how deep those fences are?***** Just asking…

Also today/tonight….
Greensboro Day at High Point Christian 4:30pm….Third meeting this week and the first two have been ugly in HPCA’s favor….
Trinity at High Point Andrews 6pm….Andrews has very good team speed, just like their old coach ‘Nat Norris’ had back in the day, when he used to out-run Coach Jones, now the track coach at HP Central…..
Trinity School of Durham at Westchester Country Day 5pm…Time for Adam Kirkman to load it up again?
Southern Guilford at Asheboro 7pm…Do the Storm have one more real good one left in them??? They will surely need it at Asheboro…
Randleman at WS Carver 7pm….Coach Van Hurley and the Tigers could be by up as many as 15 runs in the second inning…..Good time to give the young kids a push in from the Randleman bench and I’m sure the coach will…Quality program, the Randleman Tigers and people are talking about Albertson, Richardson, Walls, Welch and all the other Tigers….

That is it for now, do have more to look at?????

  1. Southern vs Asheboro
Southern should be fine tonight, they will be there with Canada & Hedrick, should anything else be said. After all that is the team, correct? Southern only has those 2 players haven’t you heard.

  2. If WA can beat McMichael then it certainly will help their county Rivals out in the bulldogs. Dont think they will worry about that as they need to keep pace with NG, McMichael, EA, and the 1stcatcher place Bulldogs. BW will be in a dog fight tonight at EG. I wouldnt think they would throw the crafty lefty tonight. But i would throw him every game

  3. Coach Norris couldn’t play dead in a cowboy movie…hahahaha…Good luck tonight Coach Norris!!!

  4. At this point WA needs to worry about themselves and get every win they can! They have killed themselves with bad losses this season and need to secure the best seed they can. Good luck to the dogs though.

  5. Stormy,

You are wrong about SG — may be a very big surprise for many in the near future! They have several quality players in Ball, Hedrick, Canada, Edwards, and several more good JV players in addition to those mentioned. Stay tuned –the best is yet to come for these outstanding young men.
