Today we have the NCISAA 2A Finals in Rocky Mount, with Greensboro’s Caldwell Academy facing Westchester Country Day out of Wallburg and WCD is up in this Best-of-Three series one game to-none and the teams are in action on this Saturday morning, beginning at 10am in Rocky Mount and if WCD wins that game this morning then Westchester brings home the Championship…Elimination on the line…

For Wesleyan(31-7), out of High Point, the Trojans are down a game after Friday’s 13-8 loss to Charlotte Christian, down at Charlotte Christian and here is the report on that game with Charlotte Christian(32-6) needing just one win today to wrap up the NCISAA 3A Title….Elimination on the line…

from Michael Lindsay at www.hpe.com:

CHARLOTTE – For five innings, the matchup between second-seeded Wesleyan Christian and fourth-seeded Charlotte Christian had all the suspense of state championship game. One bad inning for the Trojans, however, ended all that.

With the score tied, the Knights scored nine runs in the top of the sixth inning to grab a big advantage and roll to a 13-8 win over Wesleyan on Friday in the first game of the NCISAA 3A state championship series at Charlotte Christian.

The teams play again today at 1 p.m. for the second game and again at 4 p.m., if necessary.

“Anytime you come down here and it’s for the championship, especially against these guys, you’ve got to defeat them, the crowd, the surroundings – a lot of different things,” coach Scott Davis said. “It’s hostile down here. It’s the fifth time in 10 years we’ve faced them in the (championship) series, and we’ve won a couple. But we tried to prepare them for that. We just didn’t have enough juice tonight.”

  1. Caldwell beat Westchester this morning 7-3 is what I heard. Game 3 is schedule to start at 12:30 and the winner is the State Champion.

  2. Amazing!!! If caldwell had won the state title this site would be full of details and stats. But they didnt.
