HPU Set to Host the 2012 Big South Baseball Championship

High Point University and the HPU baseball team will host the 2012 Big South Baseball Tournament presented by Brookwood Farms BBQ and Triangle Rent A Car, at Williard Stadium beginning Tuesday, May 22, and running through Sunday, May 26. The Panthers will be the No. 7-seed and play No. 2 Campbell in the final game on Tuesday.

The tournament begins Tuesday, May 22 with four games scheduled — No. 4 Gardner-Webb vs. No. 5 Radford at 9:30 a.m., No. 1 Coastal Carolina vs. No. 8 Charleston Southern 45 minutes after Game 1, No. 3 Liberty vs. No. 6 UNC Asheville at 4:30 p.m. and No. 2 Campbell vs. No. 7 High Point 45 minutes after Game 3. The bracket was adjusted to allow host High Point to play in the final game on Tuesday night.

The championship will continue with Games 5-8 on Wednesday, May 23, Games 9-10 on Thursday, May 24, Games 11-12 and any if necessary contests on Friday, May 25. The championship game will be played Saturday, May 26 at 4:00 p.m. and will be televised live on ESPN3.

Tournament passes are available for $40 for adults and $20 for children and college students with ID. Tickets can be purchased for each individual day. Tuesday through Friday tickets cost $10 per day for adults and $5 per day for children and college students with ID. For the championship game on Saturday tickets cost $12 for adults and $7 for children and college students. Children ages 2 and under get in free.
