Weather could get a little crazy this afternoon

This report is coming in out of Raleigh, but I have seen the same type news on the Charlotte sites this morning too, so we have to keep these reports in the back of our minds, as we prepare to head out to the football jamborees this afternoon/tonight….We had heavy ran here last night, so maybe it has come and gone, but this report from the WRAL Weather Center says otherwise….I wish we could get a local call on this topic, but our local guys are out until the 5pm news….

Severe weather is possible Friday afternoon and evening, and that could put a damper on area high school football jamborees and scrimmages.

“Whatever you’re doing, you’ll want to pay attention this evening because we have that threat of severe weather,” WRAL meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner said.

The primary threats from storms that form Friday will be strong winds and large hail.

“This is an especially strong system for this time of year,” WRAL Chief Meteorologist Greg Fishel said. “We’ll definitely see some strong storms and we’ll have a noticeable breeze out ahead of this front.”

The threat of showers and storms continues into Saturday. Temperatures are expected to be in the mid 80s on Friday and Saturday.

  1. Anybody seeing or hearing any updates from the weather radar???

I thought Austin Caviness would be up here by now, with a WEATHER Update from WXII TV 12….

  2. Ok Van Andy Denton where all this rain you predicted you are getting as bad as the TV people when it comes to the weather.
