WGHP’s Cindy Farmer to be Keynote Speaker at Piedmont Parent’s 3rd Annual Moms@Work Luncheon

Cindy Farmer, morning and noon anchor for WGHP, will be the keynote speaker at Piedmont
Parent’s 3rd Annual Moms@Work Luncheon to be held Tuesday, Sept. 25 at the Benton Convention Center in Winston-Salem from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The event is a celebration of working moms and the companies that support and encourage
work-life balance.

“I hope mothers who attend laugh a little and think a little about where they stand
in life and with their children,” Farmer says in an interview in the September issue
of Piedmont Parent….”Theirs is without doubt the hardest job in the world.”

Farmer has been an anchor for WGHP for 15 years and is very active in the community.

She’s a Girl Scout leader with the Peaks to Piedmont Girl Scout Council and is a
founding board member of the NC Triad Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
These efforts were recongnized in 2010 when she was honored as an Outstanding Lifetime
Volunteer. She also volunteers at Southeast Middle and Southeast High School in
Guilford County, serving as a member of the School Leadership Team and the Building
Advisory Teams at both schools.

Farmer plays USTA tennis competitively and also has a passion for photography. She
says her favorite subjects are “the gifts we are given each day,” although you can
often find her capturing images of the sports her daughters play.

More than 300 working moms are expected to attend the event, which will also include
recognition of Carolina Parenting Inc.’s 2012 Family-Friendly 50 the top companies in N.C. for working parents.

Limited tickets are available. Individual tickets for the event are $35. Tables
