High School Football Saturday Morning rewind:Looking back at last night’s #’s and looking ahead to next week’s game

We can knock out three posts in one here with our numbers check, our games ahead check and the rewind….

On the numbers end we have:
Malik Moseley(Southern Guilford) with 280 yards rushing last night and he had 1 TD…
Moseley’s teammate Reggie Gallaspy had 188 yards on the ground and 4 TD’s…..Another SG Storm player Lawrence Harrison came up with an interception return of 75 yards for a TD and he caught a TD pass from SG QB Camden Ball….

Great battle at Page last night and the two QB’s really showed up with Pirate quarterback Jordan Putnam on his game going 26-35 passing and connected for 3 TD’s….Opposing QB Richard Hayes III from Dudley ran the ball for three touchdowns and rushed for over 150 yards….Jalen Gavin also had a huge night for Page with 2 TD receptions and one TD pass….Excellent game with these two Metro 4-A rivals last night at Marion Kirby Stadium….

Viking Reid Baxter ran for 118 yards and a TD as Northwest Guilford gave East Forsyth their toughest game of the year….This had to be a super game to see and NWG is now off next week, as they get set for the playoffs and EF just got their toughest of the year…..There was a player from East that got hurt in last night’s game and we wish him a speedy return to the field….

Ryan Craven from Southeast Guilford had two big TD passes, as the Falcons ended Western Guilford’s regular season last night…..Hornets close out at (4-6/3-3)…..

Scott Johnston was running hard for the Grimsley Whirlies last evening, as he took off for 134 yards and 4 touchdowns….

Don’t have all of the numbers on Northern Guilford, but I know Ryan Johnston had a strong 35-yard run for a TD for the Nighthawks in their win over Morehead last night…

Justin Johnson with another large night for the High Point Central Bison, as the QB threw for 212 yards and he ran the ball for 46 yards…Johnson went 12-16 passing and he accounted for 5 TD’s….Will Johnson(HP Central) was 8-8 on PAT kicks last night and Amlicar Martinez of Southern Guilford was also 8-8 on his PAT kicks…Jamiel Mack with 3 HPC TD’s…

Colson Herndon went 12-14 for Ragsdale in the Tigers’s win over Glenn and Colson hit for two TD’s, with one to Brandon Walker and the other to Eric Romer

Quentin Chavis threw for 2 TD’s for High Point Christian and HPCA’s Rick Mack scored two touchdowns….

Looked for High Point Andrews numbers at the News and Record and the High Point Enterprise on-line and nothing, big win by the Red Raiders, as they pounded WS Carver last night…May have to hit the WS Journal for those numbers…..

Some pretty big games coming up next week with teams carrying some tight records into Week Number Ten/Eleven…..Week 10 for some, Week 11 for others…

High Point Central at Ragsdale…Battle for Second Place in the PTA 4-A…Ragsdale at (3-2) and Central at (4-1)….NWG complete at (4-2)….Could end up with a three-way tie for second if Ragsdale knocks off Central….

Grimsley at Dudley and Page at Southeast Guilford…Metro 4-A with Grimsley at (3-2) and Dudley at (4-1), while Southeast Guilford is (3-2) and Page is (5-0)….If Grimsley beats Dudley and SEG tops Page then Grimsley, Dudley and SEG will all be (4-2) and locked down for a three-way tie for second in the Metro…..If Grimsley and SEG both fall, then you have Page at (6-0), Dudley at (5-1), while Grimsley, SEG and Western Guilford would all be at (3-3 and then you would have a three-way tie for third…..Grimsley beat SEG, SEG beat WG and WG topped Grimsley….Could get real interesting….

Back to the PTA 4-A, you could see East finish at (6-0), HP Central at (5-1), NWG at (4-2) and then Ragsdale at (3-3)…..Still lots of possibilities…..

In the Mid-Piedmont 3-A, Southern Guilford at Asheboro next week and the Storm at (4-00 want to take the Conference all of the way out and go Unbeaten for the finish…NEG at (2-2) going to (2-2) Ledford…..

Mid-State 3-A has Northern Guilford at (6-0) traveling to Western Alamance(4-2)…..The Nighthawks at (9-0) overall, do not want to let the Warriors spoil their season, as they did back in 2010, when WA beat NG in the last regular season game to claim the conference….NG went on to win their first 3-AA Title that year…..

In the PAC 6 2-A, High Point Andrews(4-0) will close it out at Wheatmore(2-2)…Wheatmore just barely got by (1-9) Trinity two weeks ago, 15-14……

*****If anybody is going to give you a more detailed look at the games for next week than we have here, please send me their link…..*****

  1. Got the E-Mail and ready to post…One more Metro scenario might be Page wins over SEG, Grimsley tops Dudley and then you’ve got Page(6-0), Dudley and Grimsley both at (4-2) and then SEG and WG at (3-3)…..Just another possibility….
