College Women’s Basketball Final – Guilford 71, Greensboro 41

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Kayla Adams’ 14 second-half points led Guilford past cross-town rival Greensboro College, 71-41, Thursday in the Ragan-Brown Field House.

Adams scored all of her points in the second half to keep the Quakers (1-0) on top. She also grabbed eight rebounds. Logan Hardin and Jaclyn Nucci stood second on the team in points (12). Hardin had game-high 10 rebounds to complete her first double-double of the season. Nine of her boards came in the second half. Nucci added eight rebounds and game-high four blocks in the win. Morgan King contributed game-high three steals and added six rebounds and six points. Brittany Drew had 10 points.

Guilford took an early lead and never lost it. The Quakers shot 42.4% from the floor and 47.1% from three-point range. Adams tallied four three-pointers while Drew added two to accompany her four-for-seven shooting from the floor.

Bianca Richburg paced the Pride (0-1) with 18 points and stood second on the team in rebounds (6). She also had three blocks and two steals. Jena Cabe added nine points, two steals and two rebounds. Chevena Pickard led Greensboro with seven rebounds.

The Quakers return to action Saturday (11/17) against N.C. Wesleyan College at 7:00 p.m. in the Ragan-Brown Field House as part of the Daly Seven Hotels Classic.
