The Cowboys of Southwest took to the road for their opening game of this young 2012-2013 campaign to square off with the Falcons of Southeast Guilford. The Falcons came out with a dunk straight off the tip. The Cowboys showed some jitters out the gate but eventually found a rhythm. After trading baskets, SW hit a 3 to take a 5-4 lead, which was a lead they never relinquished. The quarter ended with the Cowboys up 14-6. The second frame picked up the pace with the Cowboys pushing the lead further out with a 3 pointer just before the halftime buzzer to put it 35-20. The second half was all Southwest as they cruised to a 78-45 opening night road victory. The Falcons were lead by Mike Bass’s 22 points. The Cowboys were lead by Terrell Leach with 22 points, 4 assists, and 5 rebounds, and Ben Ferguson with 17 points.
