After being at last night’s game and being right in the middle of the Northwest Guilford Vikings’ “Student Section”, I would give them props, for the being the tops, that I have seen so far this season and can any other ‘Student Section’ top what NWG was bringing to the table/gym last night???
The NWG gym was packed for the Northwest Guilford-Northern game and the NWG students were on their game…
I have seen some loud and proud packed places before, but NWG had the biggest, loudest and most creative group of supporters that I have seen so far this year….
In the past we have encountered “The Ranch” at Southwest Guilford, ‘The Wildcat Crazies’ at Eastern Guilford, loud crews at Page and Grimsley for their big games, but what I saw last night has them all topped so far….
NWG had them all topped and who can suprpass what the Vikings were stirring up last night? It was all insane, but yet still sane and good-spirited, at least from what I could hear and tell….
Dudley can really turn it, when they turn up their band, but for just pure student input, I would have to give it up to Northwest Guilford for what they were putting out last night….
Good to see and talk with T.J. Logan(Northern Guilford Nighthawks’ football), at the game and T.J. said he has been practicing basketball, but he will leave for the North Carolina-South Carolina Shrine Bowl football practices today(Saturday December 8) and the Shrine Bowl game will be coming up next Saturday from Spartanburg, South Carolina at Gibbs Stadium, on the Wofford University campus….T.J. will play in this game and then return to Northern Guilford and join the Nighthawks’ basketball team for the remainder of their season and he will be on board in time for the Timco Invitational December 26-28 at the Greensboro Coliseum and maybe home in time for game two with Northwest in basketball and that game will be played at Northern Guilford…..
Good to see former Greensboro Gaters family owner Joe Moore at the NWG-NG game last night…His daughter plays for Northwest….The Greensboro Gaters were a men’s pro basketball team, that played in the old GBA(Global Basketball Association) and they had Lloyd Daniels, Michael Curry and others on their team…Good to see Joe Moore and talk about the old days with that team…First time I had seen Joe since maybe 1992??? John Schner, now at the Greensboro Day School, was the team trainer for the Greensboro Gaters…..
That’s the rewind for today and let’s be on the lookout for more of those out-going ‘Student Sections’ at our local basketball games…..
