N.C. State loses again, this time without Lorenzo Brown, but Tyler Lewis provides solid contribution, tip-in by Hurricanes dooms Pack

Miami 79, NC State 78
North Carolina 72, Virginia Tech 60 ( OT )
Duke 79, Florida State 60
Boston College 75, Clemson 68
Maryland 86, Wake Forest 60

*****James Michael McAdoo led UNC with 22 points and 1 rebounds…Marcus Paige added 19 for the Heels, plus Reggie Bullock posted 11 pooints…McAdoo is playing real big right now for the North Carolina Tar Heels…Many are mentioning McAdoo in their Player of the Year discussions…..Mason Plumlee of Duke has been in those talks too, but only had 8 points today and did not get his usual rebound load….

Seth Curry was tops for Duke in their over Florida State, as the Charlotte Christian product was good for 21 Duke Blue Devil points…Quinn Cook kicked in 18 points and Rasheed Sulaimon was there for 14 for the Devils..Amile Jefferson was the fourth Duke player in double-digits with 11 points….

C.J Lelie paced the Pack with 18 points, but Tyler Lewis from Forsyth Country Day and Oak Hill Academy was steady all day at the PG spot in the place of injured N.C. State star, Lorenzo Brown and Lewis did not prove to be a liablity today, he was ready when he was called to enter the game and run the game…Richard Howell came up with 15 Pack points, but he could only collect 8 rebounds this afternoon…Rodney Purvis found the basket for 13 State points, but the game hinged on the tip-in by the Miami Hurricanes’ Reggie Johnson, that came with just 8/10’s of a second left….Deja Vu from the Maryland game all over again….Can’t say the Pack lost because Brown didn’t play, Pack was there all day with Lewis(16 points/5 assists/1 turnover) and Purvis leading the way…

The Wake Forest Demon Deacons had Travis McKie go for 15 points in their 86-60 loss to Maryland….Codi Miller-McIntyre nailed 14 points, Devin Thomas had 12 and CJ Harris added 10 for Wake….*****

There is your ACC Hoops wrap for today…..

  1. Can’t be angry bout that one, hard fought game and the wolfpack hung in there against a tough veteran team till the end. It was actually a well ran play at the end that you could tell they have practiced. He went up hard with the layup so it would either go in or come off the other end of the basket where Johnson would be waiting for the board. Gotfried needs to steal that play for in the future.
