  1. How about Terrell Leach from SWG? I really don’t even know how anyone in else in Piedmont Triad 4 Conference should even be considered before Leach!!

And for what she did this year for the SWG Girls, Briana Burgins. She led conference in several categories, and was probably top 10 in every major category. She also led SWG to another undefeated conference season, after losing 2 seniors (Zena Lovette and Jessica Pone) last year that was about 50-60% of SWG’s scoring last year. I think she is at least worthy of a nomination.

  2. Boys:
    Sam Hunt Dudley
    Ty Graves Page
    TJ Logan Northern
    Terrell Leach SWG

    Girls:
    Paris Kea Page
    Amanda Coffer NG
    Ronata Rogers GD

  3. You cant be POY in the area if you wasnt POY in your own conference. That should be a rule. Who won POY for the Metro 4A girls and boys?

  4. Now that the full season is over. The All-Conference members can be annouced. Andy can you get a list of the POY winners for our conferences?

    Per the-dispatch.com

Emmalee Thomas – Ledford – Mid Piedmont POY
Joslyn Spires – Thomasville – Central Carolina POY

    Add these players

  5. @hoops- While I somewhat agree with your statement about not being POY in your conference, I have to also disagree based on this. The POY in most cases are not voted on correctly due to Coaches BIAS and hatred for other coaches and schools. Now while this may not be the case in all conferences around the area, it is definitely the case int the Piedmont Triad 4a conference. And a lot of the coaches have made it know for their hatred against SWG and their coaches. The Sr class for the women’s team has gone 47-1 in conference play with the one loss coming their freshman year. So the other coaches have not done what’s right by some of the kids for SWG. Period! It’s a shame that the only ones that really get hurt are the kids that put in the work, but get slighted by personal feeling beyond their control!!

  6. Hey we say Shaylan Burnett down here in Alamance county. The best girls player in the area. Hands Down.

  7. Aliyah Grinage had the best numbers for our Northern Guilford team and was consistent in the playoffs. How come her name is not mentioned?

  8. Everyone hate SW coaches. It has been that way for the last 8-9 years. Baseball, Volleyball, Girls BB , Boys BB, and Soccer in whatever conference they are in.

  9. I love Mo Davis as a shooter but Tamera Thorpe from the Day School is the best shooter in the city. She often is double teamed and still gets her points. There are very few girls that can shoot as far out on the floor as she can.

  10. I saw just about all of the players mentioned above on the boys side this year and I think hands down the winner should be Leach. To the poster above who hates Reid Holmes? One of the classiest coaches there is around here.

  11. I dont hate coach reid You read my post wrong. My point was area coaches hate southwest no matter what.

  12. Voting begins here at the site later on today….We all the nominees in and are sorting them out now….

Follow the left-hand column of the site and you can vote there later on today….

    Thanks for following….

  13. How can you put Jackson Kent ahead of Diante Baldwin of HPCA? Diante Baldwin was the MVP on HPCA.

  14. Harry Giles is the best player in the state regardless of class hands down!!! He is the player of the year no questions asked. In my opinion the 2 best players in the state are freshmen. Go down near Wilmington and ask about a kid they call BAM!! 6’9 ANIMAL!!

  15. I nominate Sam Hunt! Sam took his team to the Regionals without any big men and not a lot of talent. I watched him get better and better as the season went on. Conference tournament and sectionals. What a great player. Has to be one the better point guards to ever play at Dudley.
