Good weekend for local baseball products on the college level:We picked another name, as Kris Peeden(NG) is leadin’ GC Pride to 4 wins on the season!

Looking over some of the local news and reviews from the College Baseball Weekend and we had some good games and names showing up on the charts….

Alex Swim(Northwest Guilford) going for the school record for hits down at Elon U. and he got three closer on Sunday, with a 3-4 outing in a win by the Phoenix over UNCG…Swim added 4 RBI and 2 runs scored and just missed hitting for the cycle…Swim in 5th place on the Phoenix all-time hit list and that is a strong showing on the baseball charts for the weekend…

Ray Crawford(Dudley HS) was 3-5 for the Spartans and he scored two and now Ray Ray is starting to find his stroke just like Swim, as they both dive deeper into the 2013 season….

Nin Marrero(Western Guilford) already has two home runs(HR’s) for UNCG on the season and he added two RBI to his season total on Sunday, when the Spartans fell to Elon U.

Ethan Ogburn(Southwest Guilford HS) has been very consistant for N.C. State over the years and he picked another win this past weekend, as the Wolfpack got past Wake Forest 5-2….Ogburn went 5 2/3’s innnings and gave up 1 run on 5 hits and he struck out 4 Demon Deacon batters….Ogburn now at (2-1) on the early season….Maybe not all that early, State now at (16-5) overall…

Kris Peeden (Northern Guilford) picks up win number 4 (4-1) on Sunday as Greensboro College beats Averett. Kris is 4-1 this year with 5 starts and 8 appearances. He’s thrown 34.1 innings with 23 strikeouts and a 3.41 ERA.

*****Greensboro College got that win, NC A&T wins and who was the first team to beat North Carolina this season??? I see where the Heels are at (18-1) now and I thought that they had run out to (20-0) start?*****

+++++Good to see all the locals, GC, N.C. A&T, Elon, GTCC, RCC and other players doing well….+++++
