Game Report on Wheatmore-McMichael baseball from NewBridge Bank Park:Outstanding efforts today by Saunders and Biggs

Game One today in the Southeast Guilford/Greensboro Grasshoppers Baseball Tournament with Wheatmore stopping McMicael, 3-0…

It ends up 3-0 Wheatmore with the win and we saw just two outstanding performances from the starting pitchers in today’s game…

Chase Saunders gets the win for Wheatmore and Saunders goes 7 Innings, giving up 0 runs, on two hits with one walk and 11 strikeouts….

Again that line on Saunders was:
7 innings
0 runs
2 hits
1 BB
11 K’s
*****Very solid outing by Wheatmore’s ace named Chase….*****

Almost equally impressive was McMichael’s Landon Biggs who went six innings and athough he had at least 11 K’s, he did give up right at 5-6 and Wheatmore made the most of their on this day…..

Again, just two superb efforts by Saunders and Biggs today and both of those kids out to be on somebody’s college roster next season…..Another point to be made on their pitching today is that they were throwing in 44-46 degree temperatures for almost the entire game….

Wheatmore wins it 3-0 and now they move on the Semifinals on Friday…..

*****Wheatmore hitting from today’s game:Devon Hollbrook 2 hits/2 RBI…Zach Lax 2 hits…Gareth Mckee 1 hit/1 run/1 RBI….*****

Coaches Garrett and Erskine had their young men ready to play today and they braved the elements and turned in solid performances…..

  1. Great job by the two young pitchers today.

Some of the best pitching I have seen this season at any level.

Hate that there had to be a loser in a game like this one, but Saunders and Biggs both turned in top-notch pitching efforts.

Look forward to seeing what these two young men do at the next level…

They sure gave and showed us a super effort today.

Could we see more pitchers like this in the tournament???

  2. I agree with you on that. Great job by the young fellows this morning and the elements were pretty rough. Cold, wind with a little rain, you name it.
