GREENSBORO, N.C. — Greensboro-area native Jaylin Davis(Northeast Guilford High School) matched a career-high with four hits and Will Callaway drove in four runs to lead Appalachian State University baseball to a 9-1 rout over UNC Greensboro in Friday night’s Southern Conference series opener at UNCG Baseball Stadium.
Davis went 4-for-5 with two doubles, an RBI single and two runs scored and Callaway remained red-hot at the plate by going 3-for-4 with a home run and three runs to go along with his four RBI. Led by the duo, Appalachian State (19-10, 9-6 SoCon) pounded out 15 hits en route to its ninth win in its last 12 ballgames.
Jaylin is the real deal! Great baseball player, better person! Enjoyed having him and his teammates Caleb McCann & Gabe Dimock in my BASEBALL “SIXTH TOOL” training program! Good luck in the weekend series to all the former Carolina Acceleration “SIXTH TOOL” alumni; Dylan Thomson, Zac MacInanneney, Ray Crawford and Nick Chapman!
Congrats to Jaylin Davis he is a special baseball player. Cant wait to see him in the Bigs.
