Introduction of Southwest Guilford High School Football Coach

Southwest Guilford would like to announce Coach Eric Rainey as new new head football coach for the 2013 school year.

Coach Rainey is a current teacher at our school and serves as our Graduation Coach. Eric has also worked as an assistant football coach at both SW Guilford in 2003, as our defensive coordinator/secondary coach and Page HS, in 2005 as the secondary coach.

Eric has also been the athletic director at Lincoln Middle School. Eric played college football at Ferrum College under head coach Hank Norton and was a two starter as a defensive back. He continued his education and football career at Towson State University with a major in Physical Education and minor in math communications. The administration is very excited to have Coach Rainey as our new head coach and we know that he will bring great leadership and demand character in our student athletes.

  1. I had the pleasure of coaching with Eric when he was at Page. We hated to see him go. Southwest has hired a knowledgeable coach who is also a good guy. Good luck Eric!
