High Point Christian Academy and Wesleyan Christian Academy advance to Independent Schools 3A State Semi Finals with wins today!

#2 Seed HPCA 11 vs #7 Seed Matthews Covenant Day 1 in 6 innings

HPCA runs its record to 24 – 4 and Covenant finishes the season as 22 – 11. HPCA had 4 homeruns in the game.

#4 Seed Wesleyan 9 vs # 5 seed Charlotte Country Day 4

WCA is now 18 – 6 on the year and CCD finishes at 15 – 11.

The 3A Semi Finals and Finals will be held at Finch Field in Thomasville where the HiToms play their regular season games.

Wesleyan will face off against Charlotte Christian – a rematch from last years’ State finals where Charlotte Christian #1 Seed won last year. In a one game series, I would take Wesleyan with their offensive power! This game will be played at 12:00 on Friday.

HPCA will take on Providence Day, #3 seed from Charlotte, these two teams played early in the season with Providence winning 8 to 7. Game time is 3:00.

The winners of these two games then will play a 2 out of 3 game series for the NCISAA 3A state Championship.

Game 1 – Friday night at 7 pm
Game 2 – Saturday at 12:00
Game 3 – Saturday at 3:00 (if necessary)

Westchester advances to the 2A private school championship by defeating Davidson Day.

They will play Rocky Mount Academy on Friday at 6:00 at Westchester in the first game of a 3 game championship series.

  3. One more rant….

High Point is going to be a busy place this weekend with Baseball on Friday…

Congratulations to High Point Central – That coach over there has worked his butt off to get that program turned around and to hang on to a bunch of quality players in a program that was the bottom feeder in baseball 3 to 4 years ago! Good luck!

if you are looking for good baseball in Guilford County – you need to head South to the High Point area this weekend!

  4. What happened to Caleb Robinson for EG? Did he get hurt or something? Only threw 2/3 inning to start the game…

  5. Caleb threw 2/3 inning in the 7th to close the game. Andrew pitched 6 1/3 innings.

  6. Enjoyed the NW/HPC game last night even though it did not turn out like I wanted. You guys had a great season. Good luck to all the seniors and especially those who will continue their baseball careers in college…Adam Swim at UNCG, Hunter Allen at William Peace University and Greyson Evans at Centre College. Great group of guys, keep us posted on your progress next year on Greensboro Sports. Enjoy the next 4 years playing ball it goes by quickly. Study hard!

  7. Sorry that the home team didn’t win, but it was a great crowd at the HPC/NWG game last night.

  8. Westchester defeated Davidson day 13-0 in 5 innings . Tyler Marion got the win going 5 innings. WCD is going for its second consecutive state
Title starting 3 game series Friday against Rocky Mount Academy.
    Good Luck Wildcats!!!!!

  9. NW/HPC is quietly turning into a fierce little rivalry! Can’t wait to see them play each other in Football this year! Always a great game no matter what the sport!

  10. Great job Andrew Robinson! Very impressive pitching for anyone, much less a 9th grader!

what is the velo on this kid?

Should be a great game vs WA. i’m guessing older brother caleb on bump for EG. who pitched for WA last night?

  11. Probably will be Michael Olenoski against Caleb Robinson Friday night. This will be one of the best games in the 3A Tournament.

  12. @kir
Andrew sits in the low 80’s would be my guess. He doesn’t really blow you away with velo but he is a pitcher. He is able to locate to both sides of the plate and commands three pitches well. Really seems to be able to throw any pitch in any count. For a freshman not much rattles him. Last night he had a no-hitter through 4 1/3 and only had faced one above the minimum at that point.

  13. WA/EG should be the place to be Friday night. thanks for report on Arob.

HPC/WF game probably see Gay get the start. Heard game might be Thursday night due to prom. Can any one confirm.

Still got vapor dust in my sinus from missle Zac hit last night. Line shot straight away dead center. Bet that ball never got 30’off ground. Strong kid!
