Dan Cetrone Steps Down as Greensboro College Men’s Lacrosse Coach and Athletics Director

(GREENSBORO, N.C.) — Greensboro College Athletics Director and Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach Dan Cetrone recently announced his resignation to pursue an opportunity as the Managing Director in North Carolina with LB3 Lacrosse.

Cetrone became the fifth head men’s lacrosse coach in Greensboro College history in 1999, a position that he held for the past 15 seasons. Cetrone leaves as the winningest coach in program history. His best season came in 2009, as he guided The Pride to a 10-5 overall mark.

In addition to his men’s lacrosse duties, Cetrone took over the Athletics Director post in the spring of 2012, after serving as the Assistant Athletics Director since 2010. During his 15 months on the job, Cetrone was instrumental in the renovation of Hanes Gymnasium and helped launch a turf campaign for Pride Field. He also continued to oversee and maintain one of the most successful annual events for the Athletics Department – the Jim Locke Golf Tournament.

From volunteering with the Triad Youth Lacrosse Association, to directing summer programs, and hosting lacrosse tournaments, Cetrone has also played an active role in building exposure and creating opportunities for youth in the game of lacrosse.
