I ran into Lewis Center Mites’ football coach Kevin Breland tonight at the McDonalds on Westridge at Battleground and Coach Kevin told me about his teams’ big win tonight(Tuesday) and about their big Greensboro City Championship Game coming up next Tuesday night, at Jaycee Park….
The Lewis Center Mites(I think they are nicknamed the Panthers, used to be the Redskins years ago, coached by Lou Hallow) and they defeated Glenwood tonight 36-0 and Glenwood used to be the Bears, back when Vic Sapp and Mike Crabtree were coaching over there and 36-0 Lewis Mites tonight…
And now next week the Lewis Center Mites, coached by Kevin Breland, will take on McLeansville for the City Title…
McLeansville has lost only one game all seasn long and that was to Lewis….McLeansville, a very good ball team, topped Windsor Center tonight to make it to the Championship Game…
Lewis Center has only given up one touchdown all season long, so next Tueday night at 7:30pm, ought to get real interesting……
Good job Coach Kevin and good job McLeansville and we are looking forward to a real good game next Tuesday night….
Not sure who will be there for the Pee Wees, but we should have somebody checking in on that game real soon….Maybe Warnersville is in there, or McLeansvile, or Guilford or Lewis or who knows who is next…..
Go Lewis and Go McLeansville, as you ready for next week’s BIG Championship Game….
from the McLeansville Team:
The Eastern Guilford Youth Football League Wildcats (McLeansville) lead by Head Coach Charles Culler and all his assistant coaches are an awesome group of men and they have done a fantastic job with the team. They have been the underdog for many years but this season has shown that though they are small in number they are big in heart. Much success in the championship, win or lose we are proud of the boys and coaches. GO WILDCATS!!!!
We heard from the Lewis Pee Wees too:
Lewis Varsity Pee-Wee will be taking on Peeler. Varsity Pee-Wee won last night(Tuesday) against Warnersville 20-0!
The 2007 Lewis Mites team went undefeated and unscored on for entire season. On that team were Jalen Gavin, Jake Simpson, Carter Parham, Chris Ripberger, Tristan Pulliam, Tre Miller, Will Edwards, Travis Lee, Andrew Schultz.
Great program. Great memories.
