GREENSBORO, N.C. — The James B. Dudley football team ranked nationally in the top 100 teams for the 2013 season. The football team finished 96th for the 2013 season.

MaxPreps, a CBS Sports website ranked the school. MaxPreps looks at more than 16,000 high school varsity football teams. Dudley, which was 15-0, captured the North Carolina 4A state championship on Dec. 14. It was the Panthers third state championship, but it was their first since winning back-to-back titles in 2007 and 2008.

Senior quarterback Emanuel Mosley was a key two-way performer for Dudley. He passed for 1,243 yards and rushed for another 1,357 yards. He also intercepted 6 passes as a cornerback on defense. He will play on the defensive side of the ball next season at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.

Junior Darius Graves accounted for 2,050 all-purpose yards (850 rushing, 600 receiving and 600 return yards.) Tackle Albert McLean, the conference defensive player of the year, led the defensive charge with 16 quarterback sacks and 21 tackles for loss. Linebacker Chris Register will play for Clemson (S.C.) University. He made 87 tackles, four sacks, forced three fumbles and picked off a pair of passes. End Khalil Vance had 15 sacks to go along with 60 tackles

North Carolina Army National Guard Staff Sergeant Darnell Slater presented Coach Davis and the team with the Army National Guard national ranking trophy Thursday morning at a school assembly. The team also received a banner for their accomplishment.
