Governor Pat McCrory(Ragsdale HS) speaks out on sports policies during inclement weather

Coming in this afternoon from WRALSportsFan.com in Raleigh:

North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory(Ragsdale High School/Jamestown, N.C.) wants to know what the policies are when it comes to deciding when to cancel or postpone sporting events at the college and high school levels during inclement weather.

“I think we need more clarifications with high school and college athletics, clarifications on that decision-making process,” McCrory said during a press conference Friday morning.

McCrory noted an incident involving the Coastal Carolina University men’s basketball team. The team’s bus got stuck on Interstate 74 in the western part of the state on Thursday for nearly 12 hours.

“I stated my opinion very early on,” McCrory said. “I would ask the question to the conferences, ‘What the heck were you doing on a bus last night?'”

  1. The governor said that when he reaches his second term, he might invite us over his mansion, during our third term at NCCPCC….(North Carolina Central Prison’s College and Rehab Center)…

  2. Here is the update on what Charlotte is going to do:

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools will move its final regular-season games to Monday, school officials announced Friday afternoon.

The Monday games will be played so long as school is in session, system athletics director Sue Doran said.

Those games were originally scheduled for Thursday and Friday but were postponed by this week’s severe snowstorm.

The local conference tournaments were scheduled to begin Monday. With the regular-season games moving, the conference tournaments will begin Tuesday.

  3. If I get my reservation two weeks in advance, I’d like to stay in there(the Governor’s Mansion) for about two weeks to find out if what FDR was saying, is really true…
