Game Details from Mike Ellis with the Jamestown News and Mike is always on top of the game and his game…

Ragsdale starting pitcher was Connor Burrows who picked up the win, going 4 innings, giving up 1 hit and 1 unearned run while striking out 4. Kip Brandenburg pitched 1 inning with 1 hit, 0 runs and 2 strikeouts. Kennan Lynn went one and was the beneficiary of the two runners getting trapped off base in his inning. Sweet went 6 innings for SEG and only ran into trouble in the second giving up the three runs on four hits and an error. from GreensboroSports.com:
Solid starting pitching for Ragsdale from Conner Burrows and a very timely hit, a big home run by Ceasar Trejo, push the Ragsdale Tigers past the Southeast Guilford Falcons 3-1 on Wednesday night at SEG…

Ragsdale took an early lead of 3-0 and made it stand up and the victory sends the Tigers to (9-2) on the 2014 season and with the loss, the Falcons fall to (8-3) overall….

Lots of strikeouts in this game and a very strong outing from both starters, Burrows the kid from Jamestown and Devin Sweet, the young man that went six hard innings for Southeast….

No multi-hit nights for Ragsdale, but that Home Run by Trejo was the type of blow that really got Ragsdale rolling and kept them rolling early in the contest….

Trejo goes 1-3, Matt Howell or Powell goes 1-3, but Avery Hodges picked up the third Tiger hit on the night….Ben Fisher had an infield ground ball for an RBI and it wasn’t as if Ragsdale wrecked havoc all over the scoresheet, the Tigers just got the right hits at the right time in the game, and like we said/stated earlier, they did most of their offensive damage early in the game tonight….

Southeast did get a solid outing from Devon Sweet, but the Falcons could not string together hits that would produce key runs and they ran themselves out of at least one inning when two SEG baserunners were picked off the basepaths on what amounted to one big defensive stop for Ragsdale, but SEG was very helpful in sending those two outs, back to the dugout…..

After the runners were picked off the bases, the next man up, Cameron Gardner got a big hit to right field, that would have loaded the bases up for SEG….This came in the sixth inning if my bearings are correct and it sure snuffed out a sure rally for the Falcons…..

For SEG, DJ Artis stayed hot going 2-3, Avery Alley goes 1-3, and Cam Gardner goes 1-3….

Not a lot of offense this evening, but there was some extra effort coming from the mound by Burrows(Ragsdale), Sweet(Southeast), Horkey(Ragsdale), Tommy Michaels(SEG) and others, as they made the hill their fortress tonight….Kip Brandenburg and Keenan Lynn also working for the Tigers….

Still got the feeling that the two key phases of this game were the home run by Trejo early, as the Tigers were able to prove that they could get to Sweet in some ways and also the establishment of mound control and steady pitching by the Ragsdale starter, Conner Burrows….

Hope to have some more info coming from Mike Ellis(Jamestown News) later and we will be saying later on to Southeast Guilford Athletic Director Scott Smith at the end of this month….Coach Smith, as we like to call him, is headed to Monroe to do AD work there….Gonna miss AD Phillip Scott Smith at Southeast Guilford and the very best of luck and success to him down the road, in Monroe…..
