  1. Once again we beat the mighty Tigers. I’ve watched Horkey for the past 4 years and tonight he struggled and looked wore out. He has always been dominant and didn’t seem right at all.I overheard he pitched 7 innings last Friday and through again Tuesday? These are not 22 year old arms and tonight showed.Coaches need to get a clue and realized it’s only HS baseball and his health is far more important..

  2. Totally agree with Glenn11. I heard Horkey has been well over pitched on several occasions. Not sure if it’s true but heard he pitched into extra innings n a game last year well over 100 pitches

  3. Jalen Surgeon pitched a shutout and 1 to 0 Grimsley through 4. Smith came in to pitch and we made some mistakes and errors and Page had some timely hits. Nail (sp?) pitched a solid game.

Had some opportunities to score runs but couldn’t make it happen. Congrats to Page for finding a way to win.

  4. Western Alamance 5 Northern Guilford 1
WP: Breydan Gorham LP: Hunter Morgan

Great game tonight at Western. It was a pitching duel between Gorham and Morgan. 0-0 going into the bottom of the 5th. Then Westen scored 5 to go up and stay on top 5-1. Both pitchers were dealing.

  5. Many HS coaches are clueless or have have no regard about the kids future. It’s all about them and the W’s!

  6. Was the pitching that good in the NWG -EF game, or is the hitting on both teams not as goos as in the past? I am guessing that playing in a “big field” made a difference in runs plated.

  7. EF at Nw was the best game I’ve seen in a while. Nw threw three college bound pitcher’s and EF threw two very good guys. There were a few well hit balls but both teams defenses came up with timely plays. There were no losers in that game.

  8. The uninformed critics strike again. Does anyone know how many pitches he threw on Tuesday. The answer is five…but you knew that right. Many Greensboro sports commenters have no reguard for coaches or actually care about the players they comment about as long as they can make a negative comment about a coach.

  9. Holder or Coach?..

First of all number or pitches thrown is such a Ignorant statement! Have you taken into account bullpen warm up and entering game warm up pitches? It’s sucha different dynamic with mature arms. Even with this how about he Nationals always shutting Strasburg down! It’s only High School ball and need to protect young arms!

  10. Seen NWG a few times this year, and they do have a good staff with three college-bound pitchers. For what it ‘s worth, Everett may end up being the best of the bunch if they don’t pitch him to death. Give him some good pitching instruction, and Pfeiffermay be in his rear view mirror.

  11. Colson Everett for Northwest had a no hitter against Glenn and the coaches took him out so he could be ready for HPC the next week. They do a very good job of taking care of arms
